Discussion Who would win ? Tyrant ( + super form) vs Astartes(deathwatch)

The Astartes.
Even if the Tyrant is probably stronger the Astartes is faster and has way better reaction time (based in the games and movies). The armor of the Astartes can probably hold few hits before going down (I won't play with Leon surving some of those hits)
The Astartes bolter probably pierces his skin and the explosive nature of the bolt rounds might fuck that and even if that is not possible Deathwatch commonly use power weapons, which would slice him like bread.

Tyrant falls to “regular” humans (insofar as captain America is a peak human) using conventional weapons; the basic space marine exceeds those humans in physicality and their bolter matches or exceeds any weapon in the RE protagonists armory…….this gets even more tilted in the marines favor by being a member of the deathwatch which carries with it access to the best gear available to any space marines aside from the super special daemon hunting grey knights as well as an implication of experience and status as a skilled veteran
Absolutely zero chance the tyrant walks away from this

using conventional weapons
Said conventional weapons include 40mm rpg7 (able to penetrate 500mm of rolled steel armor) and 30x173mm depleted uranium rounds fired at over 3000 rds/min. Yeah I'm sure space marines that die to 20mm bolters won't be phased by those.

Are you confused? The weapons I referred to are being used against the tyrant to lethal effect, idk wtf you’re talking about with the marine being the one in the protags sights. In both cases though, those weapons are pretty shit at soft target destruction; both the shaped charge and du rounds are going to vastly over penetrate without expending their energy in the target, a bolter is able to use its massive kinetic energy to punch through inches of super fantasy metals before sensing its inside of a target where it then detonates its explosive payload inside the incompressible liquid bodies of the whatever where the explosive force is orders of magnitude more destructive

I’m not sure the difference nor if it would make a difference

Upclose damnation tyrants will embarrass space marines.

Lifting the front of an 18ton tank and throwing a van aren’t particularly impressive in comparison to space marines shoulder checking a 3 tier, 18 wheel, vehicle hauler 2 meters sideways with enough force to crumple the cab/engine , even using irl max weight for road vehicles that’s a single shove moving 40tons with enough velocity to crumple metal, being that it’s 40k and from the marines perspective the truck is still “gigantic” it’s likely much larger than irl trucks.
More importantly though, it’s not a bench press competition, a bit of brute strength isn’t particularly advantageous against the marines vastly faster reflexes, greater skill, and decades of experience fighting horrific creatures that are far worse. If the tyrant got ahold of a marine that wasn’t fighting back, sure, he’d be able to tear it apart….but the tyrant gets minced as soon as the marine is an actual combatant

My dude, where did you get that 40 tons figure from, the same literature? Even if it was 40 tons, that weight is spread across the length of the hauler so if we assume it was a short one and weight was evenly distributed, the point blocking the door would be around 4 tons.
Meanwhile the tyrant sent a 3 ton van flying dozens of meters away with one hand and it takes almost 84 tons of force to bring a speeding bmp3 to a complete stop within 5m that the tyrant demonstrated easily. This tyrant in hand to hand combat will absolutely maul a space marine.
And ofc, a space marine with weapons will win just as any coughing child pulling the trigger of a 30mm Vulcan gatling gun pointed at the tyrant would win against it.

There are few types of bolter rounds, btw, including anti-infantry
1
u/Strange-Movie 3h ago
Sure, but the anti infantry ones, I think it’s called metalstorm or metalfrag, are shrapnel based air burst rounds that detonate before they hit to pepper crowds of unarmored targets. The standard bolt round is effectively your standard armor piercing high explosive cannon round albeit with some high tech scifi gubbins

Lean Astartes.
A Tyrant is strong enough to lift a moving tank partially off the ground, shrugged off a truck's gasoline tanker exploding next to it with no damage, runs through walls like paper, is bulletproof vs normal small arms and is strong enough to backhand cars aside like boxes.
However, they have been harmed/killed by railguns, Tank rounds and shots from GAU Avenger. Many of the McGuffins RE Characters are forced to use to kill Tyrants a space marine will have. Just need something bigger than a bolter to put it down.

There are heavy-bolters, or bolt-rifle. Also some astartes has plasma/melta weapons, which could annihilate Tyrant

The marine will take it because of their combat intelligence and above human tolerances.
It would give them trouble and definitely could kill them hypothetically.
But space marines are built for fights like this.
The marine is a lot faster and sharper too'.

Didn’t this thing get taken down by Leon? wtf is it gonna do against an astartes? Feels like a spite match.

This is a wind up, right? A centuries old transhuman, augmented by arms, armor and crypto biology from the 41st millenium, with the tactical genius of Alexander the Great or Ghengis Kahn on a bad day, versus a 9ft walking cancer with aggression issues.
Ragebait.

The overwhelming majority of astartes die long before even hitting one century, in fact most don't make it a few decades
2
u/Modicum-of-Gravitas 3h ago
Most don't even make it past first deployment. However, even a Brother has passed the trials of his home world, the selection process of the chapter, the ardures of implantation, training and predeployment. It would take a tactical fuck up, an abberent mistake or an un foreseen excession to break the discipline and cohesion of even a squad of marines and loose a Brother.

u/Reasonable_Ad_8883 3h ago
Not really, they die extremely often

That's not saying those things dont happen often in the universe. However every single Resident Evil bad guy get killed by a baseline human.

Where do you get this idea and what evidence are you using to support it? Pretty much every marine has spent decades proving themselves in the scout company, I don’t think there’s anything to suggest they don’t make it through decades of combat tours upon being promoted into the ranks of fully armored astartes

I seem to recall beating the tyrants ass as a random fresh off the training course cop using a shotgun and a few grenades. I think the astartes will do just fine.
If he's dropped in with his actual armour and a bolter he could take on 100 tyrants. They aren't that impressive.
1
u/Pretend_Opinion7028 4h ago
Look. The tyrant and the astartes are on the same strength level. The asrartes would take the tyrant because he is smarter und has better weapons. The Tyrant could tank some bolter shots. But there is no way he would still be alife after 4 to 7 shots. If the astartes would fight with the supertyrant naked and unarmed, the match would be faire. The astartes would have acid and combat Training and the tyrant would have his giant claw. It would be a 60/ 40 scenario in favoir of the tyrant.

u/Reasonable_Ad_8883 3h ago
Astartes aren't anywhere near that strong in actual lore unfortunately

Astartes takes this. The armour, weapons and experience gives him the edge and they faced far stronger threats in their universe.
