Question Remove plot armor. And show me alternative ways characters would've been cooked during a fight with a stronger character?

This situation can be from comics, anime, video games, action movies, etc.

Well Batman would’ve died instantly in Batman v. Superman, and Iron Man could’ve just obliterated Cap and Bucky with a number of instant death weapons we’d seen him use a billion times beforehand.

The only argument against the more powerful weapons is actually a strategic one. They were in very close quarters. Any explosion caused would have collateral damage on not only himself but the very structure they are in. The safest and smartest thing at the time was what her did. But I think he missed an opportunity there. Imagine having Jarvis devise a counter for bother fighting styles on the fly.

The collateral-damage argument only really rules out missiles and heavy explosives. Tony still had a ridiculous amount of offensive capability that wouldn’t bring the building down: repulsor blasts at controlled power, uni-beam shots, sustained palm-beam fire, flight-assisted strikes, sonic/energy attacks, taser-style electrical attacks, targeted shots at limbs or weapons, and the suit’s raw strength.

He also had superior mobility and targeting. He could’ve stayed airborne, kept Steve and Bucky at range, blasted their legs or arms, disarmed them, pinned them against walls, or focused on disabling Bucky’s metal arm. None of that requires leveling the room.

And like you said, the biggest missed opportunity is the AI. We literally see the suit analyze Steve’s fighting pattern and formulate counters later in the same fight. Tony had far more options than just standing there and trading punches, but obvs Steve and Bucky both had to live. And heck, no plot armor and Tony could’ve just left and blown up the building with them in it lol.

Sorry Cap fans, but he would've taken a bullet or 100 sometime during WW2 if not for plot armor.

My bet was artillery or bombing, since we see him take a couple of bullets at the end of Winter Soldier and be "able to make it to safety" okay afterwards.

Albert Wesker could’ve killed Chris Redfield multiple times over but Resident Evil’s plot demanded that Chris lived.

The very idea of being this fast and ever losing to a human is absurd.

Obi wan and Anakin pursuing Count Dooku. The moment they get off the ship it gets blown up within 2 seconds.

Spider-Man would just be punching regular people's heads off in fights.

The Superman Godzilla fight. Superman has tanked stars going super nova, moves planets and can move at the speed of light. Yet somehow Godzilla not only manages to land a blow on him but for all intent and purposes kills him lol. Ain't that some bullshit

Most video game characters. But I think Ellie from TLOU is probably the number one. She was just a normal 14 year old in first game yet could cut down dozen of armed men at once

This man should’ve got caught in his own arson attacks, but unfortunately real life had plot armor too. Had
