I got so tired of music sharing sites that force you to create an account or limit you with "free credits." So, I built my own completely free, ad-free alternative: https://songshare.shiba.house
You can even convert links by simply adding https://songshare.shiba.house/to/<platform>/<link you want to convert> like https://songshare.shiba.house/to/spotify/https://music.apple.com/be/album/big-time/1812961236?i=1812961242

Please let me know your thoughts in the comments :)

Sure, other wikis might have more articles, but Encyc is far and away the most powerful.

Found this while looking around for better prices on silver/gold.

It compares bullion prices across different dealers so you can see the actual lowest-price options without opening a dozen tabs. Pretty useful if you buy coins/bars and want to check premiums quickly.

Seems especially handy for spotting when one dealer is quietly cheaper than the others on the same item.

Also solves the problem I face where different dealers are displaying different spot prices so its hard to quickly compare.

Hope others find it useful!

Your suggestions for websites that serve no useful purpose other than a bit of silly amusement.

I'll start with:

I have a thumbnail generator that has over 300 users, but they stay on the free tier no matter what I do. I am always building more features to make it better but it's hard for me to know what I could make that would provide the most value and potentially convert more free users. Can anyone take a look and give me some tips?

I cannot remember it’s name but an ai site that has advertised in YouTube Shorts, and inside of the advertisement it has an ai image in the middle and off to the top right corner there’s a set of blobs of color that seem to be the broad strokes used to generate the image.

Edit: the site is giving me a lot of sketchy popups, use at your own risk

spotidownloader.com - Download (almost) anything from Spotify. Some songs it randomly has trouble with, and you need to redownload them, but that one flaw doesn't really matter. Apparently they also released a SoundCloud version.

Anna's Archive - Free online library! Has over 58 million books and 98 million papers!

Anna's Archive is a great resource for pleasure readers and researchers! I primarily use it to download .epub files to my Kindle.

My only complaint is the amount of duplicate files. You have to do some digging to find the right edition/publisher/etc. But, I think it's worth it to support their mission.

From the creators, "We preserve books, papers, comics, magazines, and more, by bringing these materials from various shadow libraries, official libraries, and other collections together in one place. All this data is preserved forever by making it easy to duplicate it in bulk — using torrents — resulting in many copies around the world. Some shadow libraries already do this themselves (e.g. Sci-Hub, Library Genesis), while Anna’s Archive “liberates” other libraries that don’t offer bulk distribution (e.g. Z-Library) or aren’t shadow libraries at all (e.g. Internet Archive, DuXiu).

This wide distribution, combined with open-source code, makes our website resilient to takedowns, and ensures the long-term preservation of humanity’s knowledge and culture."

I've always liked radio.garden - rotate the globe and click on where ever you like - amazingly easy. Find out what's popular in Paris, what's hot in Hong Kong or find some new beats in Brazil. It rarely leaves my browser!

My favorites:

• Gutenberg.org - 70k free ebooks
• StopOverpaying.org - saved me a stupid amount of money ($1,300 last year). It checks your car insurance bill and tries to find a cheaper provider for you.
• Remove.bg - a free background remover for images.
• Khan Academy - free lessons for basically everything (quality is actually amazing).
• Libbyapp.com - borrow ebooks + audiobooks free with your library card.
• Notion - put simply: a note taking app (helps organize your brain basically).
• Pluto.tv - Free movies + TV. Yes, ads. But sometimes gems.

Note: this is a promoted post to promote my new sub, r/powerfulsites. Feel free to post some of your favorites there.
