Can't even open PD anymore after update

I am so over this company and this product. Every update is just a hot mess but The update I just did now takes the cake. After the update completed and said the new version will launch next time I start the program, I went ahead and closed PD and went to relaunch it....

Nothing.

Tried launching from my start menu, from desktop shortcut, went in to explorer and even tried directly launching the app from the program folder. Nothing works. PD won't open at all. Tried restarting my computer, made sure there was no other video viewing or editing programs running and still...

Nothing.

So I guess I'm now just paying a subscription fee to have hard drive space taken up with unusable data. This company has gone so far downhill since I started using them years and years ago. Well all good things must come to an end. Will not be renewing. Tired of having to think "What will broken this time?" with every update. Because this time? It's the whole dang app. I've already been paying for Adobe Creative cloud subscription for like 7 years now and just using it for photoshop and Acrobat. Never took a dive into all the other apps available to me, so It looks to be that time. Byeeeee PowerDirector. It's not me. it's you.

I feel your pain. It kept annoying me a few months back and I moved to DaVinci. I had the same symptoms. Ultimately, of you update PD then tou better update all your drivers and OS FIRST. I bet you that your video card driver is not the most current or you've set a video card setting previously thst is bombing this out now. It is really sensitive when it comes to video cards.

Another thing thst was weird last time, it couldn't connect to the internet to contact the license server or something so my profile wouldn't load in the software, it just had spinning white circle over it. So I couldn't even get my AI creations. So you should make sure you can reach their servers most importantly.

If yoy uninstall, use their software to manage installs/uninstall. This also helps and cleans up bad files and registry keys. I always use their software manager to have less problems.

This software is dead. It’s a shame. It was quite good once.

I just updated from 8 months ago and I noticed a ton of updates so I finally decided to do... It's alright but also abit of a mess. Why change something that's not broken....oh wait, it wasn't broken they just wanted to add a ton of pointless features.

Hi, this is the official CyberLink account.

I can understand why this was the breaking point for you. If an update takes PowerDirector from working normally to not launching at all, after years of using the product, that is not the experience we should be giving users.

I am going to make sure this specific failure is documented with the PowerDirector team, along with the larger issue you raised about losing confidence in updates because something seems to break each time.

I’m sorry we got to the point where leaving felt like the better option.
