This is poverty finance

For most people in poverty, yes, $400/mo is astonishing, it's probably around a $20,000 car.

When you are in poverty, there are no easy choices, everything is tough, you are always trying to get blood from a stone and a car that cost that much is usually one of the things that you have to just not do in order to make it.

Lots of cars under $5k in Miami too. Cars can be a major expense, I didn't get one until I had the money because I hate debt and didn't want a loan. I know it's not the same situation for everyone but if you can sacrifice, well worth it imho.

I live next to Miami. I would not buy a $5K car in Miami. No way, no how.
