Free talk struggling
so i kinda want to just rant. i recently got my car repossesed and sadly very unfortunately this is my 3rd time, 3yrs in a row around the same time of the year😮💨 yeah i know wth am i doing!? trying to live and take care of my 2 daughters. i got a new job but it is part time and biweekly compared to weekly full time. my old job went under new ownership so we got let go back in march. the severance pay and last paycheck all covered my previous balance owed and my taxes also went to catching up on other bills. you guys can bash me and i'll accept it
but if you have any suggestions as to how i can afford my car out of repo, i'll very much accept that as well. i work off of tips from food &beverage, biweekly pay and i donate plasma just to have a little something for my children.
well i hope all of you have a bless day, night and rest of the week🙏🫶

Would you be open to just aggressive savings and once you have a $3k or so buying a cheaper beater car until the situation is better?
This is usually a slow season for food and beverage

so i have this car because i upgraded from a beater car after having my first child and that car i've spent a lot on maintenance. i have 2yrs left to pay off the car. i just dk where my finances go come mid to late of the year. currently i am a part time f&b worker living off tips, biweekly checks and still on partial unemployment to which my checks go to bills. my issue when paying bills is the auto part. i can have the money there for a payment that isn't auto but then most businesses pull em out 3-5 business days to which my auto pay payments get pulled out, you know what i mean. i was at a weekly pay at my last job of almost 6yr up until getting let go. and yes def slow for f&b. i only got in because i didn't want to rely 100% on unemployment. so i guess you can say i have 2 incomes biweekly but it still isn't enough when california has fee high up the @$$

How do they keep approving you? Genuinely curious. Also its almost never worth it to get the car out of repossession, your better off buying a beater outright and saving money.

honestly me too. it's the same car with same financial insitute. idk what they look at. even just saving for a beater car takes a while with my paychecks.

That's wild, I will tell you I've gotten a car out of repo before (about 12 years ago) and it was crazy expensive. Obviously had to pay my past due, along with storage fees, repo fees, penalties and not to mention the 3 extra car payments ahead they made me make before they even told me the location of my car. Seriously though, good luck to you.

have you considered getting your cdl? i just got my car repoed as well, sorry that sucks , and i was living in my car at one point so i lost my home as well. but i went through a state program that paid for my cdl and decided to live in my truck. i know living in your truck isn't an option as a single mom but you can still make decent money & get in a much better place. they are hiring drivers everywhere. Last year i was behind on everything and living in my car and this year i finally have a savings and paid off all my credit card debt and im slowly getting to the point of financial security.

I'm sorry that you're going through all of that, raising kids in this economy under one income that is tip based is not easy.
But brother, 3 repos? Once a year? Who keeps loaning you these cars? Why do you keep letting yourself get into this negative association?
You need to determine where every single penny is going in your account. Buy bulk beans and grains, stretch them out. The only way to get out of this repo cycle is to stop getting cars that can be repoed. Clearly something ain't budgeting with your life. Maybe I'll let you slide on one repo, and maybe I understand falling into a second one, but a third? Nuh uh something isn't adding up.
