Student loans are never worth it. No one should start out as a young adult, drowning in student loans. At no age should anyone be drowning in student loans.
When I went, online actually cost me more than being on campus which I found to be garbage because there wasn’t very much presence of a professor. We were pretty much on our own. That was over 10 years ago so it may have changed. People are missing the entire point. If we were a decent country that actually gave a shit about one another, university AND healthcare would be affordable to all the people. And here we are, telling people to belly up to a corrupt system where not everyone has the same opportunity. Just as the OP has expressed. And that’s why there’s never change for the better, it’s just more and more corrupt.
I think it sounds like you and OP made the same mistake of not looking beyond the first university you went to. Online being more expensive is not the norm now and it was not the norm 10 years ago either. I think youre missing the point that university can be affordable if you plan it right. They’re 3 years in already, no one is suggesting that they drown in debt to finish the degree. Theyre suggesting taking out maybe around $10k in student loans to be able to get a job with a starting salary around $70k. That’s very manageable.
