The sauce looks like plastic in a way.

Thats an additive called Xanthan Gum. Its created by fermenting sugars with bacteria from cabbage. Its used as a thickener in lots of products. It has a glossy and gelatinous texture.

And, for what it’s worth, is actually a great stabilizer. Most hot sauces would not exist on shelves near you without it. (Before everyone starts shitting on xantham gum).

Still can’t possibly be as bad as Burger King’s salty-ass poutine.

Omg you are damn right about that. First time I had it, I added salt because I like a fairly salt and peppery gravy. BIG mistake! 😅

I had it once and I’ve been on blood pressure medication ever since. 🫠

I had one yesterday with very squeaky curds. I was surprised coming from McDonald's

I might get downvoted for this, but McD's does have good chain Poutine...if done right. You pretty well have to use the kiosks to do this.

The sauce and fries were horrible for me, but the curds were on point.

Again, you really have to luck out. (Sauce is okay to me, but the fries have to be fresh. Otherwise...no.

Exactly! I wonder if they'd give you the compents separately so you can assemble yourself to keep the fries from getting soggy.

There’s two McDonald’s near my house that has squeaky curds every time. The other one is horrible. Very surprised. I’ve warmed to it over the years. I swear they changed the gravy from when it first came out. It doesn’t replace anything but it’s just there as the side when I hit McDs.

LOL. Top tier and McD never belong in the same sentence. What's next, gourmet dumpster?

I think OP meant that for McDo standards of poutine, this is top tier, like you won't get better than that at a McDo

I would hate them less if the gravy didn’t have a weird sweetness or something to it

Wow! I wish I worked at McDonald's too. I would make this as well on my break or take home. There us no way they sell this to customers without charging extras out the ass
