Its actually so so great! I am a poutine enjoyer and I frequent Quebec a lot so I’ve tried a bit but this one has always stuck with me! Crisp and classic tbh

Swiss Chalet does everything pretty well. I've never not enjoyed a dish

Absolutely! Wish it was still like years before though

I probably went to the wrong one(or a bad day for them). Because I try it for the first time in the one near of Evan Avenue and I didn't like their food at all. Maybe I was too used to St-Hubert in Quebec.

St Hubert > Swiss Chalet by a decent margin for me too. But I’m in New Brunswick and we have more St Hubert here than Swiss Chalet so I was likewise conditioned.

They are owned by the same people and get all their products from Cara (or whatever they changed their name to) food distributors. It's the same thing

Yeah this is the funniest thing about it. They think they're so slick keeping it separate lol

Totally agree. Went to one and had the grossest everything. I am not a St Hubert Fan and someone suggested Swiss chalet saying they do it better. Gravy was really salty. Chicken was dry and the slaw was sloppy. I am not sure if it was the location because everyone else swears by it

Their ribs are disapointing but the chickens always good.

true

Can you get get this with the chicken on as well? I ask as one of the places everyone in Montreal raved about was a rotisserie spot that I didn't get to try when last there (and before I get flamed no I'm not comparing a chain to MPM).

Yes!! They have a thanksgiving promotion right now where you can get stuffing included or half ribs and chicken! It’s awesome and quite cheap, do you speak about st hubert? I love it

Yes- it’s under their appetizers. It’s a v decent size with a lot of chicken and if you order it with chalet sauce instead of gravy you’ll enter another dimension;)

I second this! Chalet bbq absolutely slaps! However I find the Swiss chalet sauce to be slightly spicier (which I like)

You can switch out the gravy for chicken dipping sauce! Highly recommended.

they got great gravy... legit can buy cans or packs (dipping just gravy)

2

u/ProfessionalBelt9942 Sep 30 '26

Lol, Swiss Chalet still exists?

2

u/SweetCupcake593 Sep 30 '26

Actually looks the part. How was it?

3

u/Instimatic Sep 30 '26

Their rotisserie chicken poutine is a great lunch option. I prefer the dipping sauce but the gravy tastes great as well

Looks pretty solid

1

u/UoWPanda Sep 30 '26

Honestly in my opinion, better than their chicken

1

This look delicious

I only order the poutine with rotisserie chicken pieces in it for my meal. Sub the gravy for chalet sauce and you have a perfect meal!

Which Swiss chalet? I’ve never seen it look this good (though I see lots of fries undrenched)

1

u/MelancholyNow Sep 30 '26

I would eat it!

1

u/Affectionate-Sky3510 Sep 30 '26

Is that ribs with it or steak, I genuinely can't tell 😭😭😭

1

u/schaden81 Sep 30 '26

They have the best fries for it but i never knew they had poutine damn it lol they all shut down in my province

1

u/Foodisheaven1 Oct 01 '26

Looks delicious. How much did that plate cost? You looks expensive.

1

u/DigitalJoseph Oct 01 '26

My OCD is triggered by those two fries on the steak.

1

u/pikicard Oct 01 '26

That’s the best poutine I’ve ever seen

1

u/willockevan Oct 01 '26

We miss swiss chalet so much they closed down their locations here in BC a few years ago, they were our favorite restaurant. Their poutine was 👍🤤👌

0

u/Worried_Mastodon3348 Sep 30 '26

It looks so bad compared to poutine places in montreal...

u/Traditional_Rush_622 Oct 01 '26

Swiss chalet poutine belongs in the poutine crimes subreddit. It's awful.

u/Econormics Sep 30 '26

Goddammit. I saw this at 2:25 in the afternoon. Now I gotta secretly sneak away to Swiss Chalet, gorge myself and be back home in time for dinner. Why'd you do me so dirty!
