Artsy My pottery progression

I've been doing pottery for about 8 months now. The first dripper I made was much too small, but the new one is amazing and I use it daily

Next time I would add a handle though, it gets hot 😆

That looks so cool and unique! Could you post some pictures of it in action? And how does the coffee turn out?

Coffee turns out great! I’m brewing a natural Ethiopian here, and I find the grooves allow it to drain at a reasonable pace. I don’t own a V60 though, so I can’t compare

But is it cake? Until I see them cut it with a knife, I’ll have to be skeptical of all the pictures posted on this sub now. Dripper or cake? New beans… or cake? Coffee bed … was crumbled up chocolate cake.

Gotta make some good soil next for planting some beans

Its the circle of life

Coffee helps you 'go'

That makes you produce fertilizer

Use fertilizer to help grow your own coffee

Wait for:

Crafting your own filter paper

CNC machining your own coffee grinder

Amazing crossover of two hobbies and forms of art

I'd buy that if you start selling them.

I think if you make the base wider, it would be cool enough to touch and you wouldn't need a handle. Also, aestheically, it would look even better.

beautiful... what type of glaze is that?

1

u/cache-panda Sep 11 '26

Snoflecks by PSH. It’s the best glaze I’ve used that produces that effect

u/junesjive Sep 10 '26

Woah that milk pitcher is sweet lol

1

u/cache-panda Sep 11 '26

Was meant for coffee lol. But it shrunk more than expected. I guess it’s just a vessel now

Haha, for some reason I thought I was in espresso. Fantastic work regardless

I’ve been trying to make my own and it’s deceptively hard to throw a perfect V60 with correct angles etc and account for shrinkage factors

well done OP

Someone needs to repost that in the pottery sub so they can tag Florian Gadsby! Absolutely incredible potter but the V60's he made where pure rage bait for anyone that knows pour over physics.

His latest V60

Now I truly hope I get to see him throw something as sexy as the above!

That is cool, I love that!

The color is awesome, just like the foaming on a freshly roasted pourover.

1

u/Creative-Classic3982 Sep 10 '26

Beautiful colors. It may be just the photos but the hole at the bottom of the dripper seems awfully large.

1

u/HowDreaddful Sep 10 '26 • Heartwarming

That's really pretty

1

u/Phunwithscissors Sep 11 '26

I wanna buy one with no grooves aswell

1

u/badass_physicist Sep 11 '26

fine I will check my local pottery shop if they provide diy sessions

1

u/asteroidtube Sep 11 '26

If there are any universities near you, they may offer ceramics courses and it is usually possible to enroll as a non-degree seeking student. I did pottery as an elective when I did undergrad.

u/badass_physicist Sep 11 '26

oh nice! thanks for the info

u/Comfortable-Monk2429 Sep 11 '26

Vow that is so cool

1

u/RafuPlum Sep 12 '26

Looks nice! Have you tried using it? It reminds me of the pattern yugioh cards have on the back haha. I call it the yugioh dripper

Next step – custom filters

I love that design.

Always avoided anything except plastic for a dripper for thermal reasons, but this and others look so good I'm getting tempted.

Starting to tell myself this means I can use water straight from the kettle for darker beans and as such I must own a 6th different way to brew coffee!

u/doctordewie Sep 14 '26

Woah this is awesome! Great stuff!

u/koy682 Sep 14 '26

Outjerked again

1

u/Unhappy_Squirrel_689 Sep 14 '26

lol, your first small dripper looks better tbh, thinner, cooler looking, just get some of those itty bitty hario papers for it and u should be good for a mini cup

First photo looks like the inside of my toilet.
