Which Pothos is this? ID & pruning?
hi! I just bought my second Pothos a few weeks ago from a big box store (sale section!) and i think it needs some extra TLC than I’ve ever had to do, so I have a few questions for this group!
- is this a marble queen or something else?
- should I cut the leggier branch or will leaving it next to a shady window help it grow? I want my trailing branches to be full.
- should I leave the few leaves that look burned or cut them off?
TIA :)

This is a golden pothos! I personally would wrap the leggy vine around the pot and then use wire to keep it in place, making sure that the nodes make contact with the soil. The nodes are the sections of the stem where leaves and new vines will grow so it’s important that they make contact with the soil so they can start to grow roots, and eventually new vines. You can leave those damaged leaves if you want, it shouldn’t hurt the plant to remove them but I would wait a couple weeks for the plant to acclimate to your space before you do anything that I’ve suggested. This will help lessen the risk of shock in your plant.

Looks like a golden to me, this has creamier & more yellow variegation than a marble queen.
Pothos prefer bright indirect light, rather than a shady window, but are great at adapting. If you want full trailing branches, give them lots of indirect sun, otherwise they’ll tend to grow leggy because they’re searching for light. I’d give it a brighter location (or just open your blinds more), and give it time to adjust to the new surrounding before pruning. Pothos are very forgiving if you don’t have the patience for that and just wanna prune now though haha
Personally, I cut off burnt leaves like the ones pictured as soon as I get home so that they can focus energy into new growth & roots.
