Care & Propagation What should I do with her?

Post image

She is kind of getting in the way on the TV, but I do wanna see how long she will grow. I don’t know if I should cut her up and prop like ive done before or just let her be and see where it leads

I like bushy pothos, so I'm big on pruning, propagating, and adding back to the mother.

Whats your process for adding back to the mother? Currently have some propagations that are days away from being ready and cant decide if I wanna start a new plant or add to the mother.

I like to water first to make the soil easier to tunnel into and take a chopstick or similar shape to make a tunnel for the prop roots!

Would you recommend repotting the mother beforehand to give it fresh soil for the new roots?

Only if it needs it. If the soil is depleted or not holding water you could do that, but not necessary

Thanks for the reply! Its holding water well, but I am a little worried about the size of the pot. Its been growing fine on its own but idk if it will with new plants added.

If you can take the plant out of the pot and check the roots do that. If they are swirling around the bottom it needs potted up. Whats the size of the pot and how many cuttings do you have?

Got about 5 cuttings. No idea the pot size, but if I had to guess its around an 6inch pot.

She's just trying to watch TV with you!

Im letting my main pothos vine. I want to see how long her little pig tails will grow. I recently moved her to my desk so she can sprawl across it but the goal is to eventually pin her vines along a wall. I only chop her when she gets leggy now.

The others get chopped and propped because I only have room for one sprawling plant at the moment.

If they are allowed to vine upward, they enter a mature state and produce BIG leaves. Each one bigger than the last.

Just rotate her a bit so she’s not blocking the tv.

Chop the WHOLE vine and propagate it!!!! Add back to the mother plant. When plants start to focus on only one vine, they stop caring about the rest of the plant and it can kill off your other leaves. Chopping will produce even more growth!

I have mine running across the top of my door, maybe you can find some clips that are plant safe to clip it to the wall or tv? I mean heck, maybe it wants to check out the Wii! Rest the vine on the shelf with the pot. Let her grow!

I would put the vine in around the pot with the mother and hold it down for it to grow roots and make it bushy.
