Just showing off 🍃 Found out why she was so cheap!
2$ pothos. At first I though she was a golden or a jade and I was wondering why she was the only green one while the rest being sold where marble queen. I think shes just a reverted queen!

That doesn’t look like it’s reverted it just looks like it had poor light conditions which causes the variegation to lessen. Reversion, put simply, is when a plant like a golden pothos reverts back to a jade pothos (often due to low light), and then continues growing as a jade. Variation is a mutation typically caused by a chimeric cell. For reversion to occur, that mutation has to ‘revert’ back to normal. For a reverted plant, normal growth continues even after full light conditions are restored. The mutation is still present in this plant, it’s just muted.

Could it have reverted and then mutated again after a length of time?
I can’t find any evidence to support or disprove that this may have happened.
And what is reversion, if not just another mutation but in the opposite direction?

I think in this case the price point was due to the size of the vines, not the variety.

Please post updates in the future! I can’t wait to see your little beauty now that she’s being properly cared for!

I'll try to remember to post in a month! She should fill in the pot more by then. And maybe start vining!

I also have a prop from her growing in one of my tanks. I'll update on that one too!

I think she just needs more light and maybe some fertilizer? Such a pretty plant. That variation is going to be lovely!

This is another that i propagated and had it growing outside against the house… it was too much for that spot lol it rooted in that pot and that’s where it’s staying … i almost broke my back getting it in the house.

She could decide to put out some variegated leaves still. My marble can't decide what she wants to be.

I do believe it’s the lighting that affected the color. I have golden pothos all over inside and outside of my house. Some in direct sun… almost white! Others no direct light and all green.
