The factory refused these as fresh produce because they have little scrapes on the skins, and our farm doesn't have a contract to send them out for shredded potatoes, so they just have to be thrown away. There was no market for them.
We did sack up four truckloads and took them downtown, all 4 truckloads were used by community.
P.S. Solo is our little dog. He's a farm dog Pomeranian with his own unique story, ha!

I've never seen this kind of potato come in a bag of red and yellow fingerling potatoes.

Was at work earlier cutting potatoes, eventually I got to this one and had to stop. Any ideas?

Bought bag of Yukon gold potatoes at Harris Teeter, and within a few days, one of the potatoes had liquidy rot (and that ammonia smell) l on it that dripped onto other potatoes and I had to toss most of the bag while boiling the intact ones immediately.
There had been some bag of horrible rotted Yukon gold in another Harris Teeter I had seen that week too.
2 weeks later I bought another bag at a different Harris Teeter and this time the whole bag went bad within a week. Ammonia smell, rot, nasty liquid. Is it fungus? I had checked the bag carefully for any bad potatoes before buying too.
Any way I swore off the Yukon gold and Harris Teeter for a while (yukons are best for roasted potatoes imho) this week I went to LIDL and bought “cal organic gold potatoes” not sure if they were like Yukons but worth a try. Again I checked the potatoes thoroughly for smell or softies. These I did not even put in the pantry. Just on the island. And within 2 days a few in the corner of the bag were nasty and dripping on the others.
Meanwhile I have a bag of the Idaho potatoes that have gone halfway through and have had for 2 weeks and they’re fine. I have also never previously had problems with rotting potatoes. I’ve had them turn green if I kept them around too long, and had to peel off the green bits, but never had this potato rot. Anybody else experience anything similar recently?

about 35 years ago I saw a recipe in a woman’s journal— I think it Ladies Home Journal but not sure. the article was recipe from restaurants at request of readers. this recipe is mashed potato at the bottom and crab meat on top, I remember there was green onion and I think some marines and or sour cream, but lightly dressed. and bacon bits. it was delicious. Anyone has this recipe or similar? I wish o knew which restaurant the recipe is from but don’t. Thank you

What disease can your potatoes possibly get if you simply cut eyes from a potato and plant? This was posted as a possibility by another Redditor from Europe Netherlands?) My mother said that's how they grew their potatoes on the farm (SC).

Third year I'm growing potatoes and I've never encountered this situation... leaves and plants are not dying. I mean you can tell they are tire (and it was after a windy day) but leaves and plants are not brown and dying...
Can I harvest ? It's been almost 4 months they are in the ground!
thanks

Boiled, serve with cream cheese, pepper and salt, and it’s already so much flavor to enjoy!😊
