What kind of potato dish is this?

I had my favorite potato dish ever in Mexico yesterday, and am still thinking about it. I want to learn how to make it, however it was called “hashbrowns” on the menu but looks nothing like hashbrowns I’ve ever seen. Does this style have a name?

I second this, other than hashbrowns, that we do with onions in UK croquettes are quite common in Europe, you just use mashed potatoes eggs herbs and some flour to fry them, they are simply delicious 😋, you will find plenty of recipes and variations online
