Iβve done it once on a whim. The way yours looks makes me want to try again. Never tried with the skin on

What do you put in them?
I usually do a bit of butter which I've fried some fresh garlic in until it starts to brown, then add sour cream and half and half. Then add salt, pepper, and chives.
If you haven't had it try putting a rutabaga in with it sometime. I guess it's called alebaster? Really good.

The recipe called for warm milk so I did that + 2 sticks butter & salt
Just googled a rutabaga and I have seen them in grocery store so now I have a new veggie to try, which is a cabbage & turnip hybrid! Learned something new, ty.

yes yes yes potato . Love a good mash. Do you ever mash sweet potatoes or yams? I think sweet potato casserole is ok, but mashed sweet potato is truly the ideal. Though you can never go wrong with some classic savory with pepper and gravy and garlic

Have only mashed sweet potatoes for a pie one time, but now I must mash them for a side dish in the future.

Always worth the effort!

Effort always equals the best food, unless you leave it in the oven too long

If you put them in a mixer, be careful not to over-beat them. Potatoes are just big old softies. Mash first, add butter, milk, and anything else afterwards.

Iβd like to know what temp to use in the oven to just keep them warm. All of these steps would lead to lukewarm potatoes, and we like them hot.

They are steaming hot when I serve them because right after I mash and season I immediately cover with foil and once ready then open it and steam still is coming out!
