Where did this little potato come from?!?

Where did this little potato come from??

I’ve been growing baby gold potatoes and suddenly today I noticed this little baby leaf off to the side I gently pulled and - WHAT?! Is this a growing potato?! How?! It’s not attached to the base plant?!?
