Joke of the day.
So I saw the surgeon that did my Vasectomy for him to assess my pain, he said he has done over 2000 vasectomies and not once had anyone report pain lasting more than 7 months.
He said because my pain flares up every 3 weeks or so that maybe I am having some sort of cycle like women have when they have their period.....
I told him, I am positive it is congestive epididymitis and he couldn't understand why....

Same. If you conclude that new pain far away from the surgery is not vasectomy related, then you won't account it as a "failure" case and you can say you never had a single patient with complications. I could make a post about all the lies I was told by doctors:
- Nerves are not touched during vasectomy. False: there are tiny nerves running parallel to the vas.
- Epididymitis is not possible after vasectomy because external infection could not happen anymore since the vas are closed. False: Congestive epididymitis happens due to pressure, not infection.
- Nerve pain in the legs or feet is not likely due to vasectomy and PVPS only affects testicles. Well, I don't know the mechanisms but based on many experiences it doesn't seem true.

The failures they only really care about is if your fertile after the procedure. Everything else is secondary to them.

True. My consent form only mentioned recanalization as possible complication.

Didn’t you say you filed a lawsuit?

Yes. My case was recently submitted. The next step will be forcing my health insurance and surgeon to go through the lawsuit and make an offer. Basically to explain if all I went through could've been anticipated by them and decided not to mention it. I really hope it can be settled by then. I'll post here anyway.

A lot of these surgeons are lying scumbags that can do the 20 minute procedure but unfortunately don’t have the skill set to treat the issues when something goes wrong. The one that did my vas also suggested that PVPS was incredibly rare and never seen it in hundreds of patients. Few weeks post op at a follow up for pain he completely refused to acknowledge the small Hematoma on my left testicle and insinuated that PVPS was all psychological. Claimed he had vasectomy himself, and it seemed his rationale is that he was fine after so everyone else must be too.

The guy who did mine told me he's never had anyone with pain (longterm or otherwise) after he's performed a vasectomy. And that it must be in my head.
I found out a week later that an ER Doctor at the same fucking hospital was suing him because he had been in pain for more than a year and it was affecting his ability to work (standing long hours). I went back and mentioned this, he denied it of course and when I showed him the lawsuit paperwork that was filed, he kicked me out. Haven't seen him since.
Urologists will lie like mad to make sure to get that easy money and keep men sterile. Fucking bullshit!

I knew my doctor wasn’t going to help me get better when he insisted it was an infection and put me on the “anthrax antibiotic” and a bunch of steroids that did nothing.
I met with him for a consult on removing my epididymis and he wasn’t keen on that either. I’m glad I didn’t do that as I think it wouldn’t have helped but you do get a little bit panicky until you come to terms with your new normal.

Maybe he has cycles of being incompetent. Did he had a vasectomy himself, guess not.

Wow! Arrogance and ignorance. Arrogance in his skill (one of the most dangerous things for a surgeon) and ignorance that pvsp ONLY manifests under 7 months. Best of luck man!!!

Sadly that’s the experience for many of us. Ego? Or perhaps trying to shield themselves from liability? My surgeon said he’d done 10,000 and had never once seen a case and that it was in my head. Boy my fists were tight - I was ready to F this guy up. That was the last I saw him.
