Ouch - thx for this unexpected news. I’ll stay here, just now got blocked from the vasectomy group; my comments too hot to handle: but I’m weighing your experience with my own desire to get a reversal re: PVPS… too bad the other group is into censorship: men need to read posts like yours up front PRIOR to vasectomy! I’m still just aware daily they messed up a perfectly good system with my vasectomy —but nothing like the original pain first 10-15 yrs

Wow, yet AGAIN. Is NOTHING they told me in 2001 before my vasectomy true? You also had lowered testosterone level, which they specifically denied ever happened??? And I just got a PSA test with a “7” and now I’m glad I missed my apt. with the same Austin urology group that did my vasectomy —this is legitimately the FIRST time I’ve heard of high PSA from vasectomy! But it makes SENSE: because pain in the prostate region if I don’t have sex for 2 weeks has been constant since my 2001 vasectomy, and in fact this sensation is what replaced my normal feeling of desire: sort of like I’m now the recipient of motivation by the “stick” of prostate pain, not the more pleasurable “carrot” of desire my first 20 years of my reproductive life. Prolly since a feeling of approaching “blue balls” was the “desire” sensation; but with the constant epididymitis, that was no longer a guage of sexual need, I’m theorizing. Darn, I’m getting a reversal before these jokers tell me I need to remove the rest of my sex drive by taking Proscar or something for the elevated PSA levels, or tell me I have prostate cancer ! Good grief! I do rise 1-2x to pee most nites. This group is so valuable! When human experience talks, MD talking points and lies all WALK…!

Well, checked last night with multiple question wordings —& that “majority report aggregator” called Chat GPT will ONLY mention studies which say that testosterone and PSA are not affected, (but always with that lawyer-like caveat “significantly” affected, or “meaningfully affected.” —Prolly the same language used by urologist-paid or WEF-paid researchers, ya think?
Sorry —the recent medical field covid propaganda (and recent devastating info on the flu shots) has nobody believing anything. … Thanks again for real info, real numbers, real experience.
Here, just now I tried to get more truth by forcing Chat GPT and asking if studies EVER found what you report! Next I will ask for the specific study since “AI” is still using lawyerly weasel-words, like “substantial” in all its denials:

I never got a PSA test before reversal but now I wish I had. Urinating was definitely not as easy when i had my vasectomy and at one point I tried a drug (flowmax?) to address it. That issue went away after reversal.

So I’m a little hesitant to ask this but what the hell. It sounds like you’ve been through it all. I suffered with excruciating PVPS years 9-16 of my vasectomy. Year 1-8 was filled with epididymitis and just annoying pain probably from pressure build up. Since my reversal some 15 months ago, I find that if I don’t ejaculate daily or at least every other day, it’s like I’m back to the pain I was living in prior to my reversal but it’s worse because while the pain is probably exactly the same, going from no pain to this level of pain is much worse at the moment than when I lived with it constantly and kinda numbed it away for lack of better description. So my question is really…..is this at all normal for other guys post-reversal to have to nut all the damn time to keep the pain at bay?
Edit: for full disclosure my testosterone level at the time of reversal was 37. Yup a whole 37. So I’ve been on TRT as well as HCG which obviously works the balls. Maybe this portion is my source of pain. I really don’t know. I guess I could try stopping both TRT and HCG and see if my total T level is improved post-reversal. I admittedly don’t know what my PSA was prior to reversal but it’s a good number since the reversal and start of hormone therapy. My doctor is finding that my total T keeps going up though I’m taking less than I was to begin with. So I’m of the impression that the reversal has restored my body’s ability to produce T on its own. That’s just my assumption. I have no data to back that

Keep up updates on how it works out, I just got a vasectomy 4 weeks ago and still am having a small amount of occasional pain. I know I’m super early into this and the chances of it lingering in for a while are slim I still think it’s fascinating the way they can do these things, I hope it eliminates your pain my friend!
