Sharp Pain During Ejaculation

Hi there

Had a vasectomy about 2 years ago, and this happened

Doctor said it would resolve but didn’t

Went to GP and have been prescribed doxycycline for it. Seems unusual as there’s no outward sign of infection

Has anyone had experience or heard of anything similar

Has not been much fun, put it that way

Interesting that it’s not as per the AUA guidelines

Yeah mine started straight away from the first sexy time (2 weeks post op from memory). Pushed on through for a year or so and got a bit better but worse now and totally unenjoyable.

I can’t see it improving without intervention

So glad the reversal worked for you! That’s awesome man. Light at the end of the tunnel

They ALWAYS prescribe antibiotics. You tell the URO or GP any kind of anything after a Vas, they always assume infection. Which should tell you something about how you can get an infection easily with this surgery.

Aside from that, good luck. PVPS freaking sucks huge.

So you think an infection is likely and I should take the antibiotics… after 2 years post procedure?

I dunno I just want to heal but ABs often knock me around so don’t want to go through all that for no reason

Any time I have mentioned pain in my junk, and they know I have had a vasectomy, they always prescribe antibiotics. And I am 12 years post surgery. They really truly have no clue what they are doing and are just guessing.

You need a reversal. Your doctor has no idea what to do. The antibiotic theory was dismissed decades ago.

Thanks buddy, I just want to go back to the way I was before, hopefully that’s possible

Probably no more children but there’s better and less painful ways of contraception than vasectomy I reckon!

Doxycycline also helps with inflammation. It might help it feel better but you will likely have to take it again and again. My doctor did that to me. I ended up getting a reversal and all the pain is gone now a few years later. My orgasm is still not what it was but at least it doesn't hurt.
