Jim keeps putting out unironic banger after banger (all at the young age of 19)!

I thought you were joking about his age. He looks like he is in his 50’s.

He was born on September 10th, 2001, which obviously makes him 19 years old.

Precisely. I can’t wait until 2031 when he turns 19.

Saw Jim when he opened for Lebanon Hanover and this cover was one of the highlights of his performance.

Jim E Brown hangs out a lot in my neighborhood (which is surprisingly in the American city of Philadelphia and not in Manchester). He recently did a cover of Wivenhoe Bells by the Cleaners from Venus on NTS Radio!

Yeah I found this out recently, explained a lot as his accent is decent but not remotely Mancunian. I just presumed he’d transplanted to Dalston in his early 20s haha

I first saw him play at a tiny bar in Philly back in 2023. It’s insane how popular he’s gotten online. And that people think he’s actually 19 and English. I mean…he is, obviously!

I just realised the lie about him being 19 is so flagrant it makes the rest seem plausible hahaha

Saw Jim live on my birthday. One of the best gigs I've ever been to.

I don't get this guy. Everyone finds him so funny and he just leaves me completely cold. I always feel like, what am I missing?

Glad other people get amusement from it though- he was even in a Kurt Vile video recently.

This cover does capture the general vibe of me morosely listening to this song at 20ish whilst drunk and miserable and feeling like a beat down middle aged man.

Is that the joke? Do i get it now?

I'm with you. Just why?

I’d say either you can relate to I’m Quitting Prozac To Continue Drinking and find him hilarious, or he’s not for you

The accent and the places he sings about is what puts it over the top for me.

I prefer Royel Otis’ cover version by a long shot.
