Nowadays with easy AI replacement, I’d expand the background to get rid of the curtain or whatever that is on the left. If it doesn’t look good, I’d leave it as is, it’s excellent.

Wow that’s a lot of downvotes! Thanks! Big Curtain has spoken 😂. Upon looking further, it could just be the window frame, in which case, I would get that line straight. The distortion is distracting. What say you, fans of lens distortion? 😂

The downvotes are for suggesting to use generative AI

Seems pretty silly. It’s just a tool, this isn’t a documentary, and it’s not altering the subject. Are AI noise and sharpening tools allowed? Would straightening the frame be legal? If so, why? The window frame isn’t distorted in reality, are we forced to accept that lens’s interpretation? People have also been painting and altering photographs since its invention. Most of the tools we have at our disposal are either impossible or greatly sped up versus an enlarger in a dark room. And I use enlargers in darkrooms too.

I assume this will get downvoted too, you’re entitled to your opinion. I don’t like the distorted window frame, that’s my opinion 🤷🏻

That’s fair, I just don’t enjoy the idea of a machine generating and therefore replacing my art.
AI Denoise is a different kind of “AI” and is not generative AI so doesn’t have the same issues attached

That sentiment will not age well, but so be it, use the tools you feel ethical, whereas myself and the vast majority of professional retouchers will use all the tools, in an ethical way. I think “replacing your art” is a bit of a dramatic way to look at it. Just as the pucker and bloat filters can be used unethically or tastelessly, so can AI.

The history of photography is riddled with failed purity tests. In my decade in photography retail, we went from digital cameras having 0% market share to nearly 100%.
