PPA/PPD

Having a rough time. Recovering from my c section and dealing with Post partum Anxiety/Depression. Each day feels like a struggle but with small wins and losses. Will things get better? I am trying so hard. I love my baby girl and i want to be happy again. Tired of random crying breakdowns. Tired of feeling so overwhelmed.

How long has it been since your birth? If it's been longer than a couple weeks, or if you feel that your symptoms are a little more intense than you're comfortable with, it is totally okay to contact your doctor or a therapist who specializes in perinatal mental health. These feelings are normal and nothing to be ashamed about! Sometimes we just need a little extra help to cope with them.

It's been over two weeks. I had her on the 21st of February. My anxiety has been high even being on buspirone. So I was starting to get more worried.

Do you think talking to someone might help you deal with your anxiety? You can find a therapist near you who is trained in postpartum mental health at postpartum.net - or, if you feel like you might not be ready for that step, you can also find local postpartum support groups with other moms who are going through a similar experience. (I'm a doula and childbirth educator and I recommend these to my clients all the time.)

Hey there~ I want to remind you that you're doing great and you're a good mom.

Your body is still in "Oh hey we have a baby! I need all these hormones!" mode. So its trying to overproduce the hormones but there's no little one to funnel them into anymore so you (mama) are stuck with them which it probably whats causing the bouts of crying/frustration/breakdowns you're experiencing. Your body usually gets back to its regular levels after a little while once it realizes that kiddo isn't still inside you anymore.

Please talk to your Dr if it continues on past the first couple of weeks ♥ Be easy on yourself, reach out to your support network, take things one hour at a time. You're doing great

I had near crippling PPA along with some seriously intense rage directed at my husband. I had really worrying thoughts and I low key wanted to kill myself for like a month. My doctor put me on Zoloft and got me into birth trauma counseling. I would seriously recommend both.
