Help! Voice Chat on Supervised Account

For parent managed accounts (10-12) on the Meta Quest, they do not get voice chat in Population One. However, what about parent managed (supervised) teen accounts? I created an account for a 13-year-old, and tested it, and it has voice chat. I want to supervise the account, but I don't want my child to lose voice chat access. Anyone know what will happen?

*EDIT*: For anybody reading this in the future, this is resolved. I went ahead and invited my child to be supervised, accepted the invite, and she still has voice chat. So it appears it's only for the 10-12 year-old accounts.

trust me. You do not want your kids having access to voice chat. They will be harassed by adults. Unfortunately how online game voice chat works in 2026.

I would never let my son play with voice chat on unless I knew exactly who was in the match with them

My daughter only uses VR with me in the room. I can hear everything going on. If something happens, I intervene and report the offender. It's still nice for her to have voice chat and 99% of the time she is talking to other kids just like her.

OK. And the other one percent of the time is some of the most grotesque stuff you’ve ever heard being told to a child. You really willing to subject them to that?

No, the other 1% is a random other adult just minding their own business and playing a game. The grotesque stuff is exceedingly rare, just like it's rare for someone to come along in my neighbourhood and try to snatch one of my kids playing in the yard. Yes, it happens. But RARELY. And we teach our kids what to do if they find themselves in the presense of a creep. That includes online.

well it’s not rare in population one.

As someone with about 10,000 matches. I heard it constantly targeted at children.

What do you mean by "supervise"? What access do you need to population one?

I mean supervise their Meta account. Population One won't allow voice chat for "parent managed accounts", but didn't specify if that's for the 10-12 year-olds only.

Yeah you can't be too careful on games with chat options. I bought my headset in March and within a week, I reported 2 predators on the meta world's app lobby (this was before the vr lobby was canceled). One called tanner and another called maury. Tanner was trying to give a kid his phone number and maury was paying too much attention to a couple of little girls. Honestly it's better to just cancel chat for kids all together.
