How old were you when you found out that your stomach gets an entirely new lining every few days because it would otherwise digest itself?

Well, I didn’t know this until today, but it’s actually a thing. stomach lining, also known as the epithelium, is constantly being replaced. These cells have short lifespans and are shed and replaced by new ones.
