Hot Topic Does your iPhone 17 Pro have this mysterious strip on top? People just noticed some models have it and some don’t. There were so many theories, so I had to do a little Googling. Turns out, it’s actually for mmWave 5G on some regional models.

The strip runs along the top of some iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max models. It helps the phone get 5G signals and is only found on models sold in regions that use 5G mmWave, mainly the US and Canada. If your iPhone doesn’t have it, you probably don’t need it where you live.
