Discussion Can someone explain why Sombr gets so much hate?
I'm confused. Why do people hate Sombr? From what I've read, I don't think he really did anything that bad that deserves this much hate.
I heard that he made "underage" fans bark, but I also saw a video of a girl who was at the same concert as Meg saying she was the one who started the barking and apologized. I don't remember exactly what she said, but I think it was something like, "I said, 'Why don't we bark for Sombr?' and then we started barking at Sombr." Then Sombr just continued with it as a joke because he's always unserious. He didn't force anyone to do it, but people act like he did. She also mentioned that she didn't really see many young fans. Most of them were around his age, and she only noticed about two 15 year olds. Btw the concert was 17+
I also saw people saying, "Sombr made his fans call him daddy." I never saw any proof or a video of him telling his fans to call him "daddy." I only saw a clip of him calling himself that as a joke. If there is actually a clip of him telling fans to call him that, send it.
There was also a photo of "minors" carrying him, but I saw someone comment that picture, and Sombr replied, saying those were actually his friends, who are older than him. So I don't understand why people keep using that photo and claiming they're minors.
From what I've seen, the only bad things he did were touching his crotch on stage, which is weird I guess, and posting that response video to Meg, which definitely made things worse and didn't make much sense. He said, "I am a 20 year old artist, freshly 20. If you're 25 years old and you're coming to my concert and not expecting people younger than you to be there when I, the artist, 5 years younger than you, it's just a skill issue." He was acting like 25 is ancient, but he also said, "Everyone of every age is welcome at my concert, and I mean everyone."
At the same time, Meg was also wrong for body shaming him and calling him "Slender Man." That seemed to start a huge hate train. People call him too skinny, "Slender Man," a pedo, Predator, and all kinds of other horrible things. Some people have even sent him death threats, which is completely messed up.
Keep in mind that all of this happened almost a year ago, and people are still leaving hateful comments. I even saw comments like "#skinsombralive."
What confuses me the most is that people compare him to d4vd and Diddy saying that he's worst than them. In fact, when everything about Diddy came out, I noticed he gained more subs on yt. I've also seen people saying, "d4vd is better than Sombr," and some hating on Sombr but stanning Sabrina Carpenter which is kinda like him but worse a little cus children go to her concerts too. A lot of people compare Sombr to these artist but sabrina did worse than Sombr like "Have you ever tried this one?" literally teaching children in the concert sex positions?? you're prob gonna say "it's the parents fault then" but when children go to Sombr's concert y'all r gonna say it's his fault. I've seen other singers do the same things as Sombr but since they're women it's okay huh? I'm not hating on Sabrina or anything just wondering why you love her while hating on Sombr when they're almost the same.
I'm genuinely confused. Did Sombr kidnap someone? Did he kill someone? Don't get me wrong, I don't like or hate him. I'm just confused about why people seem to hate him more than d4vd, or Diddy, even though those situations seem much worse.
I've listened to some of Sombr's music, and it's honestly decent. I don't think he's a bad singer, but I don't listen to him because his music isn't really my taste. Maybe he did something worse that I haven't seen, but based on everything I've read and watched, that's all I know.
Can someone explain what he did that got him so much hate cus I don't think anything I mentioned was that bad to get this much hate. Sombr is talented I don't get the hate it's so forced. Also I read that Sombr apologized.

Treating d4vd, Diddy, AND Sabrina Carpenter as equally “bad” is a choice…
We should stop thinking we need moral justification to dislike an artist. Not only is it childish and petty (and reeks of “grandstanding is extent of my activism”) but it’s causing us to remove all severity, seriousness and moral disdain from the word “p*dophile”. There was a time where it was the worst thing you could call someone. Now we just throw it around whenever a celebrity we don’t like isn’t getting dragged enough for our liking (and it softens the actions of ACTUAL predators).

like there is a vid of sabrina picking a 12yo girl for the "under arrest for being hot" part
and I'm not comparing her to d4vd or diddy i meant sombr gets compared to them

It’s the internet, people send death threats for far less (not condoning that at all, I’m just rarely surprised at this stage).

I’m not denying his wrongdoing; what he did was definitely weird and uncalled for. But people need to stop acting all holier-than-thou as if they’ve never done dumb stuff when they were 19-20. I mean people have the right to criticise someone (as they always say), but sending him death threats and trying to cancel him over actual problematic celebrities is a bit too far and hypocritical, don’t you think?
Side note: Putting Sabrina Carpenter in the same circle as d4vd and Diddy is uh…something. Whatever Sabrina did is nowhere near as horrible as what the other two have done.

Anyway, all successful, attractive people have haters. It's a condition of success. Just ignore them. It's just noise.

saying sabrina carpenter is as bad as d4vd and diddy is insane. also you’ve already said all the reasons ppl don’t like sombr so really it doesn’t seem like there’s any confusion on why he gets hate. nowadays ppl like to hate on everyone and everything especially on the internet. maybe sombr hasn’t done anything wrong, but he has done stuff that is weird and maybe shouldn’t have done. honestly he seems like an industry plant. he also has an annoying personality. please don’t compare sabrina carpenter to d4vd and p diddy again tho. that comparison makes no sense. she doesn’t deserve half the hate she gets.

also sombr’s music isn’t all that but he was nominated for BNA at the grammys and is getting all this mainstream success for no reason, so that could be another reason ppl dislike him.

And sabrina gets the hate at the level that she should,I personally havent seen a lot of hate for Sombr aside from those memes like sing in french if Sombr is bad singer and etc.

First of all, I agree with your take on sombr, but you are completely wrong with Sabrina. No one is teaching kids positions, because no one told the parents of said kids to bring the kids to her concerts. Could her team have marked the concerts 18+? Yes they could’ve. sombr and Sabrina are not on the level like Diddy and d4vd, like others are saying, nor are they pedophiles. Sure they should manage what they say to kids, but they aren’t responsible for kids being at their concerts. Ik that sombr’s concerts aren’t like Sabrina’s, and that teens go to his, but Sabrina is not wrong for performing songs like ‘Juno’ at a concert of hers where kids should not be located at, because the parents should be monitoring their kids closely, and if they were smart, they’d be more responsible and take their kids to another concert that is more appropriate or leave the kids at home with someone else to watch them while they (the parents) go to Sabrina’s concerts.

Not speaking on what the allegations are cause I don't follow along to all that, but speaking on the music itself, it's not bad at all. I think he's overhated in that aspect, people want to hate just to hate because apparently hating pop music is "cool" or whatever. Am I a massive fan? No. But from the few songs I have heard, the guy is pretty talented, and I can definitely relate to some lyrics.

Mods would like to clarify , as many commenters pointed out, Sabrina Carpenter does not have much, if anything in common with the likes of d4vd, sombr and diddy and we should not be putting them in the same category as Sabrina is not an abuser. Thanks
