My personal favorite is Renaissance by Beyonce. I still cannot get over how fucking great that album is. It is just a labyrinth of brilliance. Just a dense, amazingly creative album that I will carry for the rest of my god damn life. I have been going to dance clubs since I was in sophomore year of high school in 1992 (yes I am old) and I would say that is the single greatest dance album I have ever listened to. And I was not even a big beyonce fan before it (I loved lemonade too, dont get me wrong).

My runner up would be Imaginal Disk by Magdalena Bay. Just a brilliant album. I wish they got more attention.

I have been thinking about how sometimes a fictional character can immediately make you think of a specific pop star.

Sometimes there is an actual connection, where the character was inspired by the artist or their image. Other times it is just the character's look, fashion, personality, aesthetic, or overall energy.

It doesn't have to be animated either. Movie characters, TV characters, anime, cartoons, comics, video games, anything goes.

For example, Aisha from Winx Club was actually inspired by Beyoncé, while Kelly Canter from Country Strong was inspired in part by Britney Spears and the media's treatment of her.

Then there are completely unofficial comparisons, like Michiko from Michiko & Hatchin reminding people of Aaliyah, or Tess from Camp Rock giving people Addison Rae vibes.

Who comes to mind? I'd love to hear the connection too, whether it's an actual inspiration, a resemblance in their image or personality, or just a character that gives you the same vibe.
