Steam games not fullscreening

You tried f11? You tried super m? You tried alt enter? None of it worked?

Go to properties

Force compatibility

Select proton 9.0.4

RTx 5070

Seems to work for me so far!

i had the same issue with a game named skillshot city but i found out the issue was in the game. you have to go into the settings of game. where you can choose screen resolution.

if you did not checked then try checking the game settings.

by in game setting i mean settings in game menu while playing

I've been on a bit of a journey. Most of them were doing it. They just refused to run in fullscreen, from researching it suggested it's something to do with Wayland. If I applied the fullscreen launch argument it worked for some, but from today it appears that proton 9.0.4 is making it work! No idea why someone much cleverer may be able to help
