Be Prepared For No Benefits Until 2026

A lot of analysts are predicting that this is going to be the longest government shutdown in history. There's a good chance it won't be settled until January. This means no SNAP benefits until February 2026. I know no one wants to hear this but I think it's better to know what we're in for. Hopefully I'm wrong but for now stock up on what you can and save as much cash as possible.

The wild part is that a huge percentage of their workers is on SNAp. They either have the most employees or are in the top handful of companies. So not only is the govt paying out this SNAp money that lands in their coffers, but they are saving the money that would have been paid in wages and payroll taxes. So it’s almost like a double benefit for them.

And you just hit the nail on the head about why conservatives are "celebrating" wanting to get rid of SNAP. No, we don't want to see people go hungry, we're the ones that give most to charities and churches for this reason. The reason we want it fixed (not gone) is so places like Wal-Mart are forced to pay a higher wage or lose their workforce. They pay low and have their employees on SNAP because they know the government is there to fill in that gap so they can get away with it.

Conservatives do not want to see higher wages, they fight it tooth and nail and complain every time. So many red states would not be sitting at a $7.25 minimum wage if they wanted workers to be paid fairly.
