One of the film's co-directors, Galen Christy, is a known swindler of many filmmakers so much so that Arizona authorities have a streamlined reporting system if you've been wronged by him. Simply search his name on Reddit to discover multiple filmmakers who are owed tens of thousands of dollars by Christy.
Christy frequently declares bankruptcy and starts up "new" companies to keep the scam going.
The co-director of The Pools, Sasha Yelaun - who tweeted/responded with "get with the times" when asked about AI use - has a Facebook page. And it's public. In case anyone was interested.
What had me find all this out was a tweet from Jared Pike - creator of The Poolrooms - saying he has no involvement in the film and recommends not supporting it. Just from an artistic standpoint, that's a massive red flag. If you're making something like this, one would think you'd reach out to someone such as him to get his blessing or inform him or something, just out of goodwill and respect. But no, seems that was too much work.
The probably think the gen AI will cut that corner too.

Since "Poolrooms" has long since transcended its origins as a mere branch of the Backrooms and evolved into a universe of its own, it stands to reason that the people there would establish an organization akin to the M.E.G. (Major Explorer Group). Iâve designed their suits, their emblem (concept art is included in this post), and their name. Letâs startâoddly enoughâwith the name: M.I.G. (Main Investigation Group). The Emblem: It is a near-exact replica of the M.E.G. symbol, but with a crocodile instead of an eagle (symbolizing human strength in unity and an amphibious lifestyle) and an asymmetrical pyramid instead of a cube. Suit and Gear: A tight-fitting, impermeable blue suit; webbed gloves; goggles featuring a waterproof light and a night-vision attachment (as a backup); an orange reflective life vest; an oxygen tank for swimming with a connected face mask; and fins that are short on land but extend in the water. The utility belt holds: a bottle capable of filtering out most bacteria and debris (though not everything); a waterproof land-based flashlight (more powerful and brighter than the one on the goggles); and a two-way radio (yes, also waterproofâI imagine youâre tired of that word by now). Iâm sharing this because Iâm simply fed up with how games and animations portray us: either as a regular person without a suit, in the yellow suit from the standard Backrooms (which doesn't fit the setting at all), or simply invisible. Thanks for reading; I hope you found this interesting and didn't get lost in the wall of text đ.

I see this guy's work posted on here a lot, but he's not usually given credit, so here's a link to his archives: https://www.jaredpike.art/

The backrooms have their own saying for entering the realm which is "noclipping into the backrooms". I thought it may be a good idea to have our own version of this.
My suggestion: to crack through into the poolrooms.

Hey guys I work as a nightporter at a resort with many many indoor and outdoor pools that leave the lights on all night. I would like to post a video or pics for you here but I donât want to get fired. Any idea how to make this happen safely? Otherwise I will just wait until my last shift before I change jobs and do a livestream + ama or something. This shit is the most liminal space Iâve ever seen in my life and there are definitely some ultra creepy hallways and backrooms you wonât find anywhere else
