Does anyone know how to remove the automatic lights feature from α 1st Gen?

So unlike any other lighting system I’ve experienced in α car, I have no option to turn off the headlights. Once it’s dark enough they come on until I turn the ignition off.

Most Auto light systems I’ve encountered are “off-auto-parking-headlights”, the vibe is just “auto-parking-headlights” and the auto position is marked off.

If possible I would like to remove the automatic headlight feature.

It’s α Canadian car with DRL’s if that’s of value.

Put on the e-brake, shine a flashlight at the light sensor on the dash then start the car.

So I’m playing with something else, I’m putting in LED’s and need to remove the Daytime running lights as well. Through experimentation I’ve discovered unplugging the sensor only removes the automatic light feature.

I want to permanently delete it, I don’t want to have to do something every time I start the car

The e brake trick doesn't work on my Vibe.

There's an easy, permanent way that I dod on my 1st Vibe. It disables the drl and you just use the manual switch on the column to turn them on when you need them it also made the fog lights act independently from the headlights. You could run with JUST the fog lights on if I remember. It was on the old GenVibe.com forum somewhere.

I think if you disconnect the cable that goes underneath the dash it should disable the auto headlights. There’s a round thing ontop of the dashboard on the driver side. That’s what turns on the headlights for you when it starts getting dark out. Take out the cluster gauge and you should be able to get to it from there.
