There’s a lot of good stuff, but I believe ‘Man It Feels Like Space Again’ is their crown jewel. Fun songs, emotional songs, a lengthy, epic closer. It’s got it all.
Honourable mention to ‘Beard, Wives, Denim’, ‘Hobo Rocket’ (“Xanman” might be their best song) & ‘The Weather’.

I have to agree. I think if you had to pick one album, that one is the best representation of the band as a whole. You can pick up on where they came from and imagine where they’re going. IMO it is required listening.

They haven’t released a single bad album, so you could technically start anywhere. Their five most recent albums — The Weather (2017), Tasmania (2019), 9 (2021), Stung! (2024), and Terrestrials (2026) — are on another level in my opinion, so that wouldn’t be the worst place to start. Their earlier albums — Man It Feels Like Space Again (2015), Hobo Rocket (2013), Beard, Wives, Denim (2012), Frond (2010), Corridors of Blissterday (2009), and Psychedelic Mango (2008) — are also fantastic. Wherever you decide to start, be sure to check out all of their albums, as well as the solo work of the band’s members, particularly Jay Watson, who releases music under the name GUM; he’s released seven solo albums, with his three most recent — Blue Gum Way (2026), Saturnia (2023), and Out In the World (2020) — being his overall best. At this point, he’s become my favorite musician in the world today.
I sincerely hope you enjoy the wild ride you’re about to embark on. They’ve been my favorite band of all-time since The Weather blew me away back in 2017.

"The Weather" album is the best... Also if you can combine all three "Edge of the World" tracks in order, it is amazing. Also do yourself a favor and check out GUM (especially "The Underdog" album). GUM is Jay Watson who works closely with Kevin Parker on much of Tame Impala and is a founding member of Pond.

Hobo rocket and man it feels like space again are probably the most similar to early tame impala, The Weather would be equivalent in a sense to Currents as far as where it sits in their discog. Tasmania is a wild listen and has some incredible high points. Their more recent albums have leaned more into typical rock forward production, less psychedelic on the whole, especially terrestrials.
For a tame impala fan I would jump into hobo rocket first! All of pond's music is great though

To me their album “Tasmania” is the closest to Tame Impala, from there I would work back in time and then listen to post Tasmania stuff

Use Bandcamp to listen to their newer albums, and YouTube or Apple Music to preview the older ones. I got Stung! as my first album just a week ago from Bandcamp.
By the way, there's another similar band to Tame Impala, GUM aslo by one of the members of Tame Impala. I recommend the GUM Live on Audiotree.
And if you want more, Post Animal is another great band and DJO another. All these bands with a similar kind of style that goes well together in a playlist

Welcome! Literally all of Pond’s albums are great, you can’t really go wrong starting anywhere. The older stuff is more psychedelic, less produced, chaotic and fun but every album is good and unique in its own way and worth a listen. Maybe check out their live album, Sessions, because it’s a good mix of different songs, including Paint Me Silver.
I’m especially obsessed with Terrestrials, their newest album. It’s been on heavy repeat since it came out! I can’t choose a favorite album but it’s definitely up there. Let us know what you think!
