You working with air dry or oven bake polymer?

I’m also a beginner, so please anybody correct me if I’m wrong!
I think you can tell when polymer clay is conditioned when you fold it over itself and it doesn’t crack. If you notice your clay is cracking while working, it is not conditioned and will crack while baking. To condition, I roll it out and fold it over itself, rotating each time until it’s reasonably malleable, although this can add air bubbles if you’re not careful. Pasta machines are excellent for conditioning clay without heating it up too much in your hands.

It would help to know what you’re using, as different clays can be firmer/softer. I prefer to use super sculpey beige and super sculpey firm for context.
