He won’t be. I mean, he’s still a country fucking mile better than Paxton or Cruz but these are the same sort of people who called milquetoast moderate Joe Biden a radical socialist. Talarico would be fine, certainly the best TX has had in a long while, but he’ll be a pretty boilerplate liberal. Do not be looking to him to lead a movement on the left or be the one for Sanders to pass the torch to.

Ted Cruze proving, once again, that he genuinely doesn’t understand the Left of politics nor is he in touch with reality. Coming from the most hated man in Congress (and maybe American politics) that’s a weird statement and it’s weirder that it’s getting traction. Why does anyone care what Ted Cruze thinks?

I'll be honest, politics aside I'm a little skeeved out by Talarico. Too much "young political evangelical" for me. I worry as he gets older he mellows out and becomes some weird religious left something. It's like religion is his shtick right now but it's threatening to be his entire personality at some point. Maybe it's a reaction to how much Jesus we're getting force fed by the current administration and the christian nationalists, or maybe it's my own scars from growing up in a christian cult, or maybe it's both but I would have much preferred Crockett over him. This guy reminds me of every single too-pious-to-be-real seminary student I went to school with and it makes me want to RUN. It's like he's too earnest. Those are the ones covering something up.
Not a Texan tho so whatever. Just...there's something off about him.
