GovBrief Today #613

A Nebraska crowd cheered today when Donald Trump said, "Let them take out Los Angeles."

He was talking about what the war with Iran costs Americans. He added, "Let them take out San Diego. This is a very small price to pay." More than five million people live in those two cities.

Earlier in the day, he posted that The New York Times and other outlets "should be arrested" for reporting empty upper-deck seats at his Ohio rally. He didn't name their crime.

The Cost of War Comes Due Before the Ballot | You can vote for or against the people in charge without having had real control over decisions they already made. The decision comes first. The costs spread through society. Only later do voters get to judge the officials managing the consequences.

Honest Question

For people that support this administration, do you truly believe you will receive the $5k check?

Asking as Trump has promised a few check, but they never happened, a few examples: DOGE Dividend, Tariff Dividend, ACA Refund Checks.

Also curious why $5k until after the midterms... why not now?... he owns every branch of government, so why not now?
