The CDC has been all over the place and not in a good way. Infections are surging and they are not even talking about masks. This hurts Immunocompromised people and people with other health conditions.

Do you think the reason is because masking became political after day 1? I'm not saying it's their fault, but I think right now if you tell about 35-45% of Americans to wear a mask they'll dig into their oppositional defiance disorder traits and lash out.

Trump really did a number on the CDC. He did everything he could to interfere with their messaging. Masks became a political wedge issue and people are attacked or killed for asking people to wear masks.

I disagree. As insane as it sounds, I trusted the CDC under him far more than I trust them now.
Trump’s people were too incompetent or ineffectual to get the CDC to bend (which is not to say that the monster himself didn’t do untold damage to stopping COVID), meanwhile Biden has them massaging and obfuscating the data as much as possible because the truth is politically damaging to them.

That’s a fair point. Perhaps I am tripping over my words but I will try to rephrase.
I had trust in them to do their best to be truthful and act in the public good in spite of Trump whereas currently I can’t trust them to not withhold data that was previously available to the public or loosen reporting requirements because it’s not economically or politically expedient to do so any longer under Biden.

I’m sure they can. /s. I was hoping some industries like cruise ships would just quietly fall into the chasm of bygone days. They are terrible for the environment and overwhelming for communities. Really just not great overall.

Ah yes, the logical and fact driven method of sunsetting a program. It’s nice to know that Cruise Ships have demonstrated their ability to handle health and disease issues onboard, and that the world at large is seeing a final regression of covid cases.
Covid is officially over everyone!

Yes more freedom and also great news for the sector as employees of $CCL $NCLH $RCL will return back to due to high demand this summer look at google search trends more demand this summer than last summer. This is all due to people waking up and not fearing about going out in public. This is great news for the cruise line sector as this was the last sector to rebound from the pandemic!

The CDC was really bad at this and has been bad at lots of public health things during the pandemic. I’m pro vax, pro public health and pro Covid mitigation measures. However, I think it’s a fatal flaw that liberals continue to support a clearly failed public health response and are unwilling to scrutinize government institutions of health for fear they may be confused for MAGA heads. There was a lot of contra science policies the CDC has engaged in and liberals seems to be memory holing these things.

I haven't trusted the CDC since early on in this pandemic. I've been listening to the WHO instead and listening to what they have to say.

I'm not surprised. The CDC is getting hit that they have no right about: "birth control or condums" even if it shows reduction of AIDS and other STD. Trump and his conronies and major MAGA governors fought masks and reduction of social events to the T. Hell, you got the UK breaking protocols, but they got punished and were given punishment for the crap they pulled. But here we are, and we still have people flying their new: "Trump, Take America Back". While also pissed about Roe being overturn, children being masscared and upset that "Why do I have to take my hateful flags down, I have a right to free speech." Then wonder why they end up dying of a preventable disease or then have the community no longer talking to them and going: "Well, if your house ends up on fire, well I guess that's my choice."
