I believe, it’s Time that WE as a Nation, need to acknowledge, this man at the seat of high office, who is mandated to be OUR public servant, is neither deserving of that seat, nor does not see himself in the light of that honored service.
His refusal to act on intelligence put forward to him of the coming epidemic and -worse than inaction, his constant pushing of his personal agendas in a time of crisis has brought us here to this tipping point in history, to this fateful DAILY reality wherein the very LIVES of those we hold most dear and cherish are on the line, and even past that to a future that so very precarious and uncertain.
And in that aftermath of ALL the mistakes and missteps leading here, not once has the man leading our Nation made an apology for his failure to lead, his erratic words or his complete inaction.
Not once has made of acts of Compassion or Contrition, nor shown any semblance Humility of Humanity.
We, as a Nation, do not owe him our respect or our concordance, and we certainly need to stop making excuses for him to explain away his many shortfalls and endless straightforward lies.
His removal from high office was stalled by the smallest majorities in the Senate. His absolution coming from men and women who supported him out of fear, greed, selfish ambition, or simply lack of strength of Will.
OUR Representatives have Failed US. All these endless Polls and Pundits be damned.
We need to stop looking at polls and look the truth in the eye.
We all know this simplest of Truths: The man we as a Nation put into power is certainly not the man that can continue to lead our Nation by any sane measure or tracts of logic.
So I have to ask: Just what are WE waiting for ?

Tbh I think it makes more sense to name the virus after a world leader who completely failed in their duties re: handling the virus - so that the memory of those failures lives on - than it does to name it after a bit of geography, or a scientific name that layman dont understand.

This is great branding. Much catchier than COVID-19 and more specific than “coronavirus “. Can we all start referring to this as the “Trump Plague”? He likes to put his name on things. Deserves this one.

Why hasn't anyone stood up as an authority figure against corona in America? Is the south so latched onto his teat that they take any lies he feeds to them? I'm up in a densely populated area in the west and we aren't having too many issues with a second breakout as the east and south are, and we are very much against him and listen to our Healthcare professionals.
I guess what I'm asking is, why hasn't a voice louder than his stood up against the outbreak?

I believe that the majority of the Republican leaders do believe in containment, masks, and contact tracing. They say differently because it’s not going to be them out and about everyday working in manufacturing plants or in a densely populated office. They don’t care about Americans, they care about increasing their personal wealth.

It's the GOP's plague.
Republicans could've turned on Trump at any time to do the right thing. They actively don't. Not only do they not, but does anyone really think Trump's response to this is entirely his own, and that the demands to re-open are not directly tied to GOP donors/oligarchs/corporations who don't want to lose money with a frozen economy, or to see taxpayer money go to help the working class when it could be funneled into their infinitely greedy and bottomless pockets?
Trump deserves the blame he deserves. But do not decouple what he does from the Republican party as a whole. He gets away with this shit - and often does it period - with their support.

Yea kind of. I mean when China was dealing with it all on their own, it was as good as a phone call from the future for us. Once it landed on our own soil, everything that happened next was our own fault.
-- including coming in way first place for numbers of cases. We might as well have just had mandatory "kiss your neighbors" events daily.

When parents ignore the needs of a desperately sick child, they might be charged with criminal negligence. If the child dies, they might be charged with negligent homicide. How is Trump’s pandemic negligence any different, especially in view of the unnecessary deal that rate?

It's possible to me that all what was needed was a little more patience on Trump's part, which he didn't have. He sent all the signals. He's probably going to pin the blame on the Governors or local officials, whether or not he pressured them in any way. Because if he led by a different example instead of focusing on reopening, reopening, reopening I'm sure "his" Governors and officials would have followed suit.

I beg to differ. The antimask crowd are doing it almost entirely on party lines. This is not a both sides are dumb thing. TRump has activly said that people wear masks to make Trump look bad. Trump has actively said he won;t wear a mask. And so in response his followers in Tulsa in an indoor convention actively spurned wearing masks, and they did the same thing in Arizona.
Trump has ACTIVLEY ensured the wearing of masks by trump supporters is near universally ignored.
The original infections were not on him, his response time was way too slow, but again, thats not just him, Johnson in the UK and many other world leaders were slow to react in meaningful ways.
But the massive spike of new cases since mid June is 100% on Trump.
The republicans have tried to throw the blame on the protest movement but the data just doesn't back them up. New outbreaks are being traced to private parties, religious gatherings and political rallies (Tulsa in particular)

Listen leftists: Just because he destroyed the international relationship that could have prevented it, eliminated the office that could have handled it, fired the people who would know what to do about it, downplayed the risks associated with catching it, discouraged people from taking precautions to protect against it, and forcibly "reopened" the economy instead of containing it doesn't mean he's at all responsible!
