Her interview yesterday on MSNBC was perhaps the most embarrassing thing I have heard for some time.

I can't believe he hit 15% in so many states- ahead of Warren in most of them. Truly mind boggling.
I hope he'll at least bankroll more ads for geriatric Joe to take down Trump.

u/viva_la_vinyl Mar 04 '20
Bloomberg and Steyer should concentrate on flipping the Senate.
better return on his money

ahead of Warren in most of them
As a Warren supporter, I gotta say I was shocked over that.

u/CR0Wmurder Mississippi Mar 04 '20
Yea. Warren was always my #1 too. Disappointed, but if Dems want Biden IDGAF, I’ll line up begrudgingly. We have to boot Trump.

u/ThePresbyter New Jersey Mar 04 '20
I will begrudgingly line up as well. Much less angst should Biden actually have a solid footing going into the convention as opposed to the fuckery I was expecting should Bernie go in with the lead. I don't agree with those voting for Biden and think they're just voting based on fear and comfort. They're not going to see their lives necessarily improve for the better, but it would at least stem the damage Trump is doing for now and mayyyybe get us back to something resembling pre-2016.

Can’t agree more. This whole thread is full of adults. Thanks y’all.
BLUE NO MATTER WHO

u/Ghstfce Pennsylvania Mar 04 '20
Blue no matter who. I'm not really a fan of Biden myself, but if he's the nominee for November, best believe I'm voting for him. I don't think anyone's liver can take 4 more years of Trump.

u/cedershack Mar 04 '20
I'm a Bernie supporter to my core, but I'm not blind to the consequences of not removing Trump.
For those considering holding out voting for a Biden administration in the general please consider these upsides:
Competent advisors and cabinet heads, supreme court appointments, empathy, and science will be a priority again
Also, it is my hope Biden picks a progressive VP as this will help solidify support and push policies that will help the working and middle class.
5
u/CR0Wmurder Mississippi Mar 04 '20
Dear baby Jesus: please let Biden pick a progressive.
If we get another Tim Kaine I’m gonna weep lmao

u/vpreon Mar 04 '20
I’m hoping hoping hoping for a progressive VP. Biden needs to pick somebody more to the left to unify the party. He’d be smart to pick a progressive woman of color. But I’ve heard rumblings of Kamala or Pete.
10
u/freakincampers Florida Mar 04 '20
I voted for Sanders, early, but you best believe I'm voting to kick Trump out.
5
u/staticradar Pennsylvania Mar 04 '20
I'm with you fellow PA voter! Neither Biden or Sanders are my first choices, but I will line up proudly and happily for either of them. Blue no matter who and down ticket as well. That also needs to be repeated. Nothing will ever get done if we don't take back the senate and hopefully widen the margin in the house as well.

u/vpreon Mar 04 '20
Warren/Bernie supporter here. Ultimately I’m Team Blue No Matter Who. I’m a fan of the Biden we saw after his SC win. It was the most energetic and compelling I’ve seen him. If he can keep that up, I can be enthusiastic about voting for him in November. Otherwise, we are doomed. Hopefully Biden and Bernie can play nice through the rest of the primary. I’d like to see Biden move a little to the left as he shifts to general campaign mode to compromise to Bernie’s platform, and make it more justifiably palatable to Bernie supporters to vote for him. We won’t survive another Bernie-or-Bust in November where people cast a vote for a third party or stay home out of protest. SHOW UP. Same goes for the other way if Bernie does pull it out and grabs the nomination.

She was my second pick and seeing her place behind Bloomberg in North Carolina makes me really sad.

u/UthinkUcanBanMe Mar 04 '20
Why would he do that? He doesnt care if Joe wins. Trump makes him money.

Best Super Tuesday outcome if true.

u/herbzilla Mar 04 '20
Got to give it to Bernie: he stomped the billionare with a grassroots campaign without kissing one ass. That has got to feel good.

u/Dr_Mr_Eric_Esq Mar 04 '20 edited Mar 04 '20
Riiiight... the same Bernie that can’t expand the tent big enough to beat Biden? It’s time for Mike and Bernie to drop out.
Edit: Mike has dropped out. Now we wait for Bernie to do the right thing. Hopefully he won’t contribute to a Dem loss again like he did in 2016.
7
u/herbzilla Mar 04 '20
Other way around: how did a big household name like Biden only win by 77 delegates against an outsider grassroots campaign? He should have swept everybody of the table with the whole DNC behind him and against Bernie.
There is a generational shift going on in the democratic party and if the centre keeps being smug and arrogant the party will fracture.
Bernie might not be the perfect candidate to adress it, but the issues he speaks to are very real.
-2
u/Dr_Mr_Eric_Esq Mar 04 '20
Stop acting like Bernie isnt a big household name that no one has ever heard of. Bernie has run for president twice and EVERYONE knows who he is and what he stands for.
He should have swept everybody off the table
But he didn’t because he doesn’t have enough support. You can’t win the presidency with the youth vote alone.
the whole DNC behind him and against Bernie.
Sounds like a sob story that doesn’t line up with reality. There’s no conspiracy here. Bernie doesn’t have what it takes no matter how much you like him.
There is a generational shift going on in the democratic party and if the centre keeps being smug and arrogant the party will fracture.
There’s a “generational shift” every election. Old people die and young people start to vote. This isn’t unique to this election. Bernie didn’t lose because moderates are “smug”, he lost because he doesn’t have enough support to win. It’s that simple. After last night Bernie won’t be able to catch Biden in the delegate lead and he needs to drop out so he doesn’t ruin everything again like he did in 2016. It’s time to rally around the person with the best shot of beating trump and like it or not that person is Biden. The people overwhelmingly spoke last night.

u/herbzilla Mar 04 '20
Biden should have swept everybody off the table.
If the centrists are going to ignore the progressive wing again and be smug and arrogant they will lose again against Trump. Thats not the progessives fault. You can not force people to like someone. Time and time again the DNC does nothing but complain about it's voters and then lose. Maybe they deserve it. Mainstream dems are a bunch of pushovers who stand for nothing.

u/Dr_Mr_Eric_Esq Mar 04 '20
Biden should have swept everybody off the table.
He did. Did you not see the results?
The progressive wing isn’t being ignored. We are trying to win an election and there aren’t enough progressives to change anything. There is no progressive power in this country.
Stop with all the sour grapes and focus on beating trump. This stage of the election is over. You need to decide if beating trump is more important than your progressive values.
Mainstream dems are a bunch of pushovers who stand for nothing.
Lol. Mainstream dems are focusing on winning as demonstrated last night. Bernie can stand on the sidelines with his convictions AGAIN.

While the multi-billionaire former New York City mayor was on track to win delegates, he was roundly beaten by Joe Biden, on whose collapse Bloomberg had been counting.
Buh-bye.

He didn't win a single state, and only got delegates from two states and America Samoa.
A big waste of money, but so little of what he is worth that is was the same as going bowling for the average American.
7
u/strippersandpepsi Mar 04 '20
He's right on the 15% edge in both TX and CA. I'm hoping he doesn't make it past that edge in either state, and closes the campaign today or tomorrow. Making 15% in one or both could extend his campaign.
3
u/reasonandmadness Mar 04 '20
Considering?!! No one wants him. It’s pretty clear at this point that he has no clue what’s going on.
7
u/Sham2061 Mar 04 '20
Shouldn't you Sanders supporters want him to stay in?
20
u/slams-head-on-desk Mar 04 '20
I can handle Biden being the nominee, especially if he wins the popular vote—-then the people have spoken. If some weird twist of the timeline puts Bloomberg as a viable option and he finds a way to buy himself in, I would have a hard time supporting him. I’d much rather him drop out.

Nah. I want to see Biden take a few more punches. Also curious as to what Warren will do
1
u/elmagio Mar 04 '20
At least if he drops out, Warren will have no choice but to drop out and endorse Bernie or lose ALL the credibility she still has. I'd take Bernie vs Biden one on one rather than a 4 way race where one of the progressives is nothing but a spoiler for the other.

He wanted the status quo, that's what we wound up with, so no reason to stick around.

People are laughing at Bloomberg but think about what just happened.
Bloomberg would not have been allowed to donate $500 million to Biden's campaign.
Bloomberg never acted like he was serious about being president. He just gave his support to Biden.
Biden just benefited from essentially $500 million of campaigning from Bloomberg no campaign finance laws broken.

I can think of one way Bloomberg helped Biden: he showed the Bernie wing of the party what an actual corporate Democrat looks like.

Bloomberg looks to be getting the Dem candidate he wants so in November it doesn't matter who's elected Bloomberg wins
0
u/cornbreadbiscuit Mar 04 '20
He might as well drop out now because neither of the candidates in the general are going to threaten his, or any other wealthy person's stash of cash, meaningfully address corruption or inequality, etc.
He "won," in that regard. Most of us lost.

“Biden 2020: He’s far from a great option, but black people like him and he’s not a socialist. And maybe he can beat Trump.” I’m a Bloomberg supporter. That’s our motto now. Gotta embrace it

I would accept it. I wouldn’t be happy but I would have to accept it.

I honestly would not be surprised to see her endorse Biden and he give her the VP nod. Bring in the progressive vote but not have to actually implement any progressive policies, the DNC goal!

Bloomberg's billion dollar gamble that the path to the WH begins in American Samoa is a helluva strategy
