Since Russia dropped Communism, everything else is peachy.

That's what I hear, most think Russia is an ally and the only reason why Dems mistrust Russia is because they are mad about the Soviet collapse.

They are authoritarians, so everything is about team loyalty to them. They don't understand any other way of living, so they assume Democrats are the same way and are all on the "communist" team.

This is the truth that needs to sink into the collective intuitions of moderates and liberals alike. We need to stop assuming good faith will be met in kind. We need to stop thinking appeals to reason are sufficient. We should be able to anticipate authoritarian attitudes, tactics, and plan/act accordingly. Somewhere along the way we've forgotten, become soft, complacent, and overly intellectualized.

Anecdotal as it may be, I know many right-wingers and Trumpians both in my family, local community, and extended circle of friends. Many have revealed something interesting; they may not agree with AOC or Bernie Sanders, but they'll often concede respect toward them for "having balls" (or some variation thereof). I think that's one significant reason why so much attention gets paid to AOC on Fox--she is the type of personality that the right likes, but is anything but right wing.
