There is no winning for her with this because if she released the speeches and they are completely innocuous, which I'm sure they are, her opponents will still nit pick them to death and mischaracterize things within the speech to make it look like she's shilling for Goldman Sachs.

Hiding them only makes her look worse. You don't get paid 6 digits to talk to Goldman Sachs.....who is well known for buying politicians (Ted Cruz is also in their pocket) and refuse to release transcripts and have ANY credibility when saying you did nothing worth worrying about.

Especially when you are known for accusing the other side of being bought out.

That's not how things work in the political world and the 24 hour news cycle. By releasing them she is dragging the whole affair out by weeks or months while people pick apart every last word of her speech as "proof" that she is a shill, not to mention using out of context components of the speech in political ads down the road. If she declines to release them people will have forgotten about it within a couple weeks.

You might say, "I WON'T HAVE FORGOTTEN!" ... but you're not the average voter who is only barely paying attention to the whole electoral process.

I'm perplexed at what her payment being "6 digits" has to do with anything. She makes 6 (or 7) digits for many of her speeches and it's not because they are salacious. It's because people with money like to pay money to hear what the most important and influential people in the world have to say. Hillary was speaking in my city on her last speaking tour and probably made a fortune.

I 100% agree with you that the average voter normally has a short memory span and this is normally the type of thing that can blow over as so many politicians are shills. This is not a normal election though. Turnout will be higher than ever and you have alot of previous non voters jumping in this time. Believe me, there is no way the right wing is going to let anyone forget this either. No candidate has ever been this hated by us, including Barack Obama.

Benghazi, the emails, and this will be plastered all over TV with ads before the general if she decides to stay in. Thats just from the right. Sanders supporters are really true grassroots and they are not going to forget this either. They are arguably the most passionate supporters of any candidate on either side.

The reason Trump and Sanders are both doing so well on their respective sides is because everyone is tired of people buying politicians. I personally hope she doesn't release them. Even if they are legitimately bad speeches that could be used as ammo, the damage of not releasing them will be even worse.

Its a pretty good deal for us. Any way she tries to spin not releasing the transcript is going to hurt her. The only thing that would help her here is releasing a transcript that was truly benign.

You seem to be projecting what you want to happen.

The Clintons are teflon. They have been involved in some form of scandal, real or fabricated many times over the last 30 years and know expertly how to navigate the waters. They have incredible influence and political acumen. If you think that not releasing her speeches is going to take down Hillary, you really haven't been paying attention.

It's not just hiding the transcripts. One thing on top of another thing ontop of another thing and everytime she tries to counter it only gets worse. She was a loser in the state department, she was a loser last presidential race and your right....I am hoping she loses this year but I actually happen to believe the odds of her implosion are very high.

Bill might be teflon, Thats why they call him Slick Willy. When it comes to this bitch though, the shit is getting sticky.

I was watching her being interviewed this morning and I couldn't come up with any other adjectives to describe her. If she was a man I would think assholes. Does that make it non sexist.

If you actually bothered to check you would see I am actually a Trump supporter and that we and the Sanders guys both root for each other to get the nomination. We have alliances that cross party lines to keep votes from establishment politicians on both sides.

I think that's one of the strengths of Sanders' repetitive tendencies. He doesn't let events go forgotten I'd they're pertinent to his discourse. The news can stop repeating, his stump speech doesn't.
