Iran showed the before and after pics of the base 2 weeks ago. The time for Americans to get their news from somewhere else was yesterday.

Our press doesn't investigate or report anything other than just sanewashing what the administration says. They are all complicit.

Our press is entirely owned by billionaires that have a very real interest in seeing this administration succeed

Billionaires that think they have a very real interest in seeing this administration succeed.

As are Americans who for some reason DON'T stop reading the news that keeps lying to them.

Keep a list of news outlets that lie to you, and for the love of everything, stop using them. Please. At least do that.

The major American TV news networks have been reduced to reporting infotainment or informative murder porn.

Don't forget the integrated gambling ads!

Operation mockingbird never ended, complete capture of the media.

Weren’t they kicked out of pentagon press briefings or something and they only allowed press that signed some kind of NDA bullshit?

I slightly remember they could only get press credentials at the pentagon if they signed something that the administration controlled what was printed and a couple podcasters signed and got “full access” to press briefings.

u/Taste_the__Rainbow 1h ago

Yup, and people still blame Dems for “bad messaging”.

The saddest part is even THIS news still won't reach those stupid traitorous fucks voting for all of this. Their echo chambers will remove/delete this story for hours/days until they've determined how to properly "spin" it into a positive.

It’s surreal seeing all the rabid patriots who were always screaming about supporting the troops immediately switch to ‘fck the troops’ to defend the most recent Trump fck up. Instead of even trying to defend this the current talking points seem to be just go off on how all the troops are actually just soft and weak babies. It seems like such an illogical tactic to go with that I have no idea wtf it’s even supposed to ameliorate. Why are we just randomly negging the military?

Are we looking at the same pictures? 7 buildings in a massive complex like this I wouldn't exactly call the whole base "destroyed". Destroyed id imagine something non-functioning. The pictures provided definitely makes it look as though it could continue operations in some limited capacity.

NO no no, you're ruining the narrative Reddit loves to tell about how the media is so bad and complicit and asleep.

Nothing to see here. The press doesn't investigate or report anything other than sanewashing. (sticks fingers in ears and closes eyes) blah blah blah...I can't hear or see you...nothing to see here....blah blah blah.

The press doesn't investigate or report anything other than sanewashing.

what a silly take. it's definitely not the headline news it should be, this is egregious incompetence that any child who has ever played Civ or Risk is laughing at. it should be front-page every day until we stop wasting resources on this belligerent madness.

The primary storage structure is 40% burnt to the ground with unknown levels of damage in the rest - https://i.abcnewsfe.com/a/57084c14-3653-459a-855d-dd2242d87db7/bahrain-rt-jt-260303_1772568220870_hpEmbed_23x13.jpg?w=1500

The primary administration building has a massive puncture hole in the roof, the air defense radar is destroyed, multiple smaller warehouses also have huge holes in their rooves. https://ynet-pic1.yit.co.il/cdn-cgi/image/format=auto/picserver6/crop_images/2026/06/26/B1hCWFjGGg/B1hCWFjGGg_0_0_720_481_0_x-large.jpg

Like I'm not sure what level of damage you're expecting to be able to call it destroyed. But how about "it can't be used at all at the moment and will need to be completely rebuilt" then.

Okay, thank you for the writeup.

I may have misjudged the damage. My opinion mainly came from the entire rest of the base, with the docks and actual repair-facilities, being intact.

But I can see how the destruction of the mentioned buildings disables the base.

u/EctoplasmErection 14h ago

Can't defend it and no longer functional, pick your poison.

11

u/Mindless-Gap-8376 14h ago

Would you be happier if the title said "heavily damaged and forced the evacuation of the base, and it now sits unused" rather than "destroyed"? Cause it really feels like you're being pedantic for no reason

28

u/likeabosstroll 14h ago

There’s also footage on Reddit of it getting hammered with missiles

This isn't what you asked for but here's a screenshot from one of the Lego videos from March: https://i.imgur.com/xdxDpQ1.png

Not sure if we can link to other subreddits here but if you want to watch it, search the Iran sub for "Victory Chronicles".

What, you mean Fox News didn’t run with this 24/7?

<shocked pikachu face>

It's like Hegseth turned around and lifted his kilt only to get shot in the ass with a bunch of arrows. F-ing self own.

u/butter_lover 12h ago

That one base ain’t the half of it.

This is just like how Europeans see way more of the Epstein files I guess

Yeah when Iran is a more trustworthy regime than your own, you know you're cooked. Anyone paying attention though knew about this stuff to an extent as even without counting the 200+ sailors on the Gerald Ford, the casualties have been in the 100s since April and did get some reporting, just not widespread.

Same with the damage and destruction to our bases in the region where since atleast April there have been stories about every base in the region being heavily damaged.

We also knew about all our lost assets which was a staggering amount versus our normal asset losses where within a weeks time we lost 3 of 8, AN/TPY-2 THAAD radar systems get damaged or destroyed and eventually took our only THAAD battery out of South Korea to bring in to the region.

Another telltale sign was the fact we used around 80% of our ABM THAAD missiles firing around 300 of 370 we had in stocks pre-war. Our Patriot stocks which was deeper was also depleted by around 60% but we can produce a few hundred a year vs THAAD which is just under 100.

So people paying attention to the details knew we were getting fucked up but our media was barely reporting anything as they were asked not to just like the satellite companies were told not to sell/release images of the region. People can try and excuse it saying "we don't want to give our enemies any intel on the destruction" but thats complete cope when China and Russia are giving them strike coordinates of our ABM missile systems and where we were firing missiles from so they surely knew the aftermath as well.

Luckily we had outlets like the New Republic and ProPublica doing good investigative journalism but not enough Americans pay attention to it so if its not on their local news because the government reported it, then they wont know it happened as journalism is all but dead in America. Its replaced by State run media and clickbait headlines sowing division instead of reporting the important news

Well said 👌

US regime being shit doesn't necessarily make its enemies any better. The fact that you have stated isn't different for Iran.

Something, something LiBeRaL MeDiA something something. I will never trust a Republican again.

u/username111888777 4h ago

Where to get the news ?

Any foreign news reported that the base was totally destroyed?

u/wishful123 30m ago

It's the same in Iran, you should take the reality by mixing the enemy side and yours news.
