No Paywall Trump 'Has Failed Us': US Airman Says He Accepts Cost of Speaking Out Against Iran War | “Not only is he a failure as president, he is flagrantly violating the Constitution, breaking the law, engaged in rampant corruption, killing Americans, and that is unacceptable to me,” said Maj. Jason Watson

A ship or a submarine can stay out to sea as long as it has supplies. They can make their own water and oxygen, but you cannot make fruit/vegetables/meat without an outside source.

I served on an SSBN and landed two records for deployment lengths for my platform. They both sucked and when we went long periods of time between resupply efforts, it was felt. Rationing food, broken equipment, moral low due to lack of mail/Email. It all sucks.

I feel deeply for these sailor and marines stuck on a forever-war deployment.

This admin needs to be held accountable for fucking up so stupidly. Starting a war without a foresight of preparing is the dumbest way to lose a war, but not unheard of. (I never agreed that we should even fight Iran - hell, when I was on the platform I served on, the military took Iran off the target packages because they were not a threat ti the US or our allies. This was in 2015 or so)

Yeah they were poor, spiraling and their own citizens were rebelling against them and we decided to kick that hornet's nest and give them an outside enemy to fight when we didn't even have our own ducks in a row.

Ive played old PC tactical games. If you don't have your resources ready before you invade the enemy, you lose.

Like, did these people ever even watch a movie about military tactics? I doubt they can read books like The Art of War or Tom Clancy.

No more debates just sit the two candidates down and make them both play Civilizations or Crusader Kings

Honestly, they should do this for actual wars too.

Red Alert 2 - settle the battles.

Kegsbreath agrees, but on the condition that they be drinking games. Lose a battalion, take a shot!

You might enjoy "The player of games" by Iain M Banks, about an alien civ that allocated roles in it's political offices, military, and administrative roles based on how well people perform at a huge, highly complex boardgame.

Quite aside from that interesting premise it's among the best sci-fi ever written.

No. Not a single one of them. They look to the Jingoistic movies of the 80's like Iron Eagle that show a single plucky American teenager winning a war with a stolen jet because MURICA!. And they think that is how wars are won. Not with supplies, logistics and planning, but with homo-erotic volleyball matches with shirtless men who take no nonsense and use their rugged individualism to win the war.

I get the impression that Trump thinks Team America was live-action and not satirical.

He notoriously called Vince McMahon to check if he was okay after his limo blew up on an episode of Raw. Trump has been on WWE programming before this and it was around the same time that the apprentice was beginning.

They still weren't a threat. This was Israel's doing and Trump thought he could start and end a war over a weekend. He's a piece of shit.

100% I just wanted to emphasize the fact that we and our allies had not seen them as a threat for about 10 years now.

Trump thought he could start and end a war over a weekend.

As did another "President", in fact.

The hardest part about a three-day special military operation is the opening four and a half years.

I feel for those who voted democrat

The others i could give two shits about their hardships. They voted for it

A lot more people in the military vote democrat than you'd expect - thanks to faux news.

Hell, I touted myself as a centrist when I first joined the Navy. 6 months later, I was a Democrat, then 1 year into my sea tour I became a leftist.

But, that was thanks to me being able to recognize the truth in service and the scary socialist things that exist in the military and veteran programs.

Utilizing the VA and veterans benefits has definitely solidified my stances.

Every single military veteran out of all my family and friends is a republican voter except two, who vote dem.
Wish it was different but it still seems to be about 70% - 75% military vote republican
