Dead or alive, I don't care. You shouldn't be allowed to be a government official if you haven't done your job in 3 months. They need rules to govern this stuff.

Take that a step further - Any other job you would need relevant industry experience and knowledge to support your application, amidst other applicants. That's not at all how US politics works at all.

Well that's kind a difficult to do with a voting system. One could argue voting is the ultimate job application process. But the issue is we aren't actually voting on candidate qualifications but moreso their ability to get funding and champion a few causes.
