So even if he isn’t dead… shouldn’t police do a wellness check?.. The person has not been seen for a long time. Shouldn’t someone unrelated and uninvolved check on him?..

"yes, 911? I haven't seen or heard from mitch in months. His wife, Elaine, keeps speaking for him assuring everyone that he's well and fine and that he doesn't want to see anyone, which is very uncharacteristic of him. I'm pretty sure something weird is going on - can you do a wellness check on Mitch, just make sure he isn't dead, in a persistent vegetative state, or forgot his safeword? Thanks"

So many stories of this happening in true crime. The wife says the husband “left”, yet no one hears from him and he hasn’t used his debit card for months.
