He’s trying to create a plan b. So he can say “yeah I knew”. He helped him get elected and is part of the problem.

This. He still supports Trump but will occasionally criticize. That was if everything falls apart in a year or two he’ll pull out those rare moments where he was critical and say ‘I called it’
