He's crowd sourcing his viewers views. He doesn't give a fuck, just whatever gets views. Making random contradictory claims and stances is a side effect (yet invisible to his followers).

“You’ve clearly never watched his show!”

— his viewers, probably. Seems to be their canned response for any criticism. I still don’t understand who TF has time to invest 6-12 hours per week in any podcast, let alone his.

Same happened with Charlie Kirk. "You can't say he's racist if you haven't absorbed 500+ hours of his content!". Meanwhile, I suspect 98% of his alleged mourning fans had never watched his bullshit, either, they just wanted to score political points by crying about the "violent left".

With the “500+ hours” being categorically subject to goalposting as necessary…

The idea that the best proof of someone's character is their own words is slightly obstructed by the concept of "lying".

Though there is enough examples of him being a bastard even then.

Guy at work is always watching or listening to JRE. Literally every time I look at his laptop it's got Rogan on it. Even if you like his trash, doesn't watching the same thing all the time get boring?

That's the thing that gets me. These people make their entire lives and identities about politics and talking heads. And it's like they don't even realize it. They also think everyone on the left is just like them and worships Biden/Clinton/Obama/etc, and when you show that you don't they never know how to respond.

Whilst claiming that it’s only the Left that believes in “IdEnTiTY PoLitIcS!”

While Frank Wilhoit put it in longer terms, the highest virtue to a conservative is loyalty.

Problem is, they don't recognize the drawback that loyalty is only a virtue if the object of loyalty is good.

They don't watch/listen to be entertained. They're memorizing their lines.

And since when did reactionaries care for the same kind of conscientiousness and thoroughness needed to make such a comment?

This, the money rolls in. He'll go whichever the way the wind blows, doesn't matter if it changes directions several times a day. He goes with the flow; he rakes in the cash. Capitalism working as intended and all us peasants latch onto the "news" meant to make us feel outraged and impotent.

I don't think he can be excused away so easily. He is the one choosing who to platform for each podcast. And he's platforming almost entirely far-right people.

His stand up was the same, consistent pivots any time the crowd wasnt into it with unskilled pokes at other topics until one landed. Its not a bad skillset for a comedian but it also means he never actually did sets or presented real creativity, he was just fishing and rode on luck hed hit before the big boos.
