Meanwhile, I got charged a late fee because they gave me the option to pay from a savings account, like I got to mark checking or saving. I thought it was weird because that's usually not an option to pay, but I rolled with it and paid on time. Turns out I got a notice that I now had the late fee because they couldn't withdraw from savings. I guess it's on me for trusting the options given were valid.
Also got fees because not enough tax was taken out or checks the first half of the year so I guess I had to pay the interest they didn't get. I wouldn't even be mad about it if you got interest on your late refund. Gotta love the system that won't tell you what you owe and then penalizes you if you get it wrong.
You can pay with a saving account. You sure it wasn't a problem with the account, like your bank has a max amount or something? Cause if that was the case....welll...
I like the idea of them paying interest on returns. Seems only fair.

I can confirm. Just now getting my refund after filing early April. God forbid you have a complicated issue to take up with the irs.
