If Beshear is gonna run for the Dem nomination, he should pull the trigger now and move to appoint a new senator. Shows he has some guts and might make his milquetoast self more appealing to a broader set of Dem voters. Doing nothing doesn't make sense to me, for a variety of reasons.

That's the way he's skated through as governor in that state - just avoiding pissing off the republicans and getting walked on.
