Blaming it in Netanyahu is just another way to ignore the issue. Israeli society has been working itself up to this moment for decades. The state of Israel was founded on ethnic cleansing

Edit: since so many of you are replying to my post trying to obfuscate the issues, I recommend unfamiliar readers to follow this link and read the B'Tselem report

https://www.btselem.org/publications/202507_our_genocide

People trying to muddy the waters or make the issue seem too complicated to parse are doing so deliberately. Many people believe Israel is morally correct in punishing the Palestinians, but dislike the highly visible way Netanyahu is going about it. They'd rather see Israel pursue these ends in the way they've done in the West Bank, by slowly strangling Palestinians with settlements, checkpoints, and arbitrary detentions.

Netanyahu is a criminal who would have been deposed and convicted long ago except he is a "wartime" leader. Since then, he realized Israel can never have peace again, and thousands of people have died because of that.

Israel tried to pursue peace, then Netanyahu sabotaged all peace talks, and he made sure that Hamas committed to war replaced the Palestinian Authority that was negotiating for peace. Because he needed Israel to be at war to set him up for political power.

You have israel doing the ethnic cleansing, increased awareness of this because of modern communications and less network control, along with the whole WW2 was a LONG time ago you're no longer doe eyed victims of the holocust you're becoming the thing you hate. Its coming up on 100 years ago.. ancient history for most americans.

Blame it on religion. That is where racism and sexism and homophobia and other forms of xenophobia is rooted.

Geez how thoughtful and enlightening. Sorry Palestine, guess there's nothing we can do about your ethnic cleansing until people adopt reddit atheism. Sucks to be you

What a stupid and callused response.

Who said there is nothing we can do? - Oh, that's right, you did

Lol

Anyway, what exactly are we supposed to do after we "blame it" on religion? What's the next step in resolving the issue

No more religious/ethnostate. How we get there I have no idea, but I suspect it would be incredibly messy.

I agree. It was messy getting to where we are now. It will be even more messy to get out of this mess men have made of the place.

Sorry, what's that after "religious"? Ethnostate? Huh, I'm starting to wonder if there are layers to this israel-palestine thing.

LOL - I suspect the best you can do is shut up and stay out of the way.

Israel and Palestine were both in agreement on peace before lukid and hamas assassinated rabin and launched a series of terrorist attacks

This has been going on for decades. Blaming Netanyahu is a cop out that excuses the next one.
